Same problem here. I'm sure they'd say it's not a problem; it's a "feature".

Anybody found a way around this? I want it to default to video1 when powering on the unit. Even read the FM w no luck. I can always use coax out from the cable box, but this is a simple function the TV can't do.

I have an Apex 20" and it does this too. Defaults to TV tuner when you turn the sucka on even if it was on another video input when you last turned it off.

I am surprised that BB is charging your credit cards WITHOUT shipping the product FIRST. There are businesses out there that NEVER would charge UNTIL the product was shipped. BB should be renamed BS.:disgust:

Well, if they fail to deliver after charging my CC it just gives me more ammo to bitch and moan at them and get a free bonus when they charge the refund back to my CC.

At least some of you have gotten emails. Many have been cancelled without any notice, and still have charges sitting on their cards.

I received an email confirming my delivery on the 31st. They went ahead and charged my credit card even though they couldn't deliver it before then. Just got an email saying they couldn't confirm my confirmed delivery so they cancelled my order. Called a CSR and she told me that 'your order couldn't be confirmed.' I asked her what that means after all I was charged for it and confirmed for delivery and she said that 'your order couldn't be confirmed. Is there anything else I can help you with?'. Umm. 'I need to speak with a manager.' 'I'll schedule for a manager to call you in the next 24 hours.' Should we start a poll on my being called back?

delivery confirmed, card charged, order cancelled because delivery not confirmed.

If I didnt know better, I would say this is a great way for BB to generate some capital.

have any received this item?

I ordered mine of Monday and picked it up on Saturday. This was no easy task. Apparently even though the local store did things correctly when the confirmed stock and set aside the TV for pick-up, BestBuy.com still screwed things up. They removed all confirmed orders for customer pick-up for this TV from the data base. When I got to the store they were not able to access the order. Luckly I brought both the pick-up confirmation and the original order and they were able to manually process the pick-up. I imagine that if they were busy or if the clerk was feeling less than helpfull I could have been screwed out of the deal because "They could not confirm my order on the system."

This is not acceptable customer service. I have nothing but compliments for the local store and nothing but distain for BestBuy.com. Apparently they are not going to be able to deliver any of the TV's that they scheduled for late July or early August because they ran out of stock and cannot replace it at the same price.

By the way,I compaired the picture on the Apex at the store with the other 24 - 25 inch displays near it and I was very impressed. It ranked second behind a 24" JVC in sharpness and second behind a 25" Diamond Max for color. Overall it was a very impressive picture. (I know that the sets may not have been set up for optimal display but the Apex picture was clean and bright with good definition.)

I also purchased the 4 year carry in warranty extension for $30.00. They also have a 4 year on-site warranty extension for $60.00. For a relatively unknown brand (Apex TV) I think the warranty extension is a good idea.

Just a thought... Apex digital is not a primary manufacturer. They buy the appliances they sell from a number of manufacturers and it is entirely possible that the APEX DVD drives are manufactured by a different manufacturer than the PF 2425 TV.

Mine's going back tomorrow. If anyone here is in the Cleveland, OH, area and wants it, let me know today (Monday).

The reason I'm returning is because I get magnetic interference in the two upper corners when my center channel speaker is on top. I don't get this with my other TV, and the interference isn't in line with the drivers in the spearker, so it has something to do with this TV. In addition to looking bad, I fear it will damage the tube or otherwise permanently disfigure the picture. My guess is that the magnets are interacting with the built-in speaker magnets, since the corners of the TV are right between them. In any case, I don't need to look at that all the time. Has anyone ever returned something like this to BB? Are they as bad as I anticipate?

Both of my DVD and PF2425 came with "ChangHong" brand batteries. I think it means they are both made by "ChangHong" which is said to be the biggest manufacture of DVD player and TV in China and in the world.

you cant directly compare one next to each other as they will have different settings and sometimes different connection, causing much more interefernece on one tv over the other.

but thsi tv isnt so bad for its price

Well, final post on the subject and then I'm done with it. Called up again today and was told I'm still in the manager's queue. Apparently she has been very busy for some reason. Just got a call from her and the jist of the conversation was 'We ran out of stock. We may get more stock in before your scheduled delivery date but since your order was cancelled you will have to pay normal price. It is against our policy to charge your credit card before delivery but you were credited back so I don't see why you have a problem. I'd be frustrated too if I were you but there's nothing that I am going to do about it. Feel free to take your business elsewhere.' I will.
