App Development Question

I'm thinking about another project at work. I want to create some kiosks for customers to walk up and fill out a web-form that will get them in our CRM software... Possibly something I can setup, throw in some shock-resistant cases, and take to trade shows.

I'm not a big iPad guy, but it seems to be the best platform for durability, longevity, and everything else.

I'd like to lock the iPad in Kiosk mode and saw some different ways to limit Safari and the home button to only allow it to access this one form or perhaps only a few different URLs. I'm wondering though if I should develop an in-house app that has 2-3 buttons that allow me to link to different customer forms. I just want to limit the iPad to only work for one thing. It would be really basic, but perhaps the limitation would be that it would need a web browser to render HTML to keep everything together. I'm just wanting to lock it down the best I can and maybe chain the iPad to a table so it doesn't walk off. Any ideas, or are there already apps like this out there that allow you to add a few link buttons in a general framework? It seems that quite a few apps are nothing more than a list of links anyhow....that's all I need...just trying to make it look presentable for customer interactions and branding.

There is a component called a UIWebView that is basically a web container. You could basically make your app a one view app and just load the content via HTML into it and handle it all through HTML. I've never personally used one before, but it sounds like it's pretty straight forward.

iOS’ restrictions feature lets you limit safari to only access whitelisted urls. Kiosk mode will prevent them fro switching out of safari. Don’t really see the need for anything else unless you have some user experience requirement that needs a native app.
