I play a particular MMO to pass the time, it's fun and mostly because my sister and brother-in-law play too. Yup, I enjoy the game more just because a few people I know play and when we group up it's pretty much smooth sailing...
But apparently I'm not playing right.
We all have tons of characters on said MMO, spread out through various levels, so it makes grouping up easy and has some variety depending on what we all feel like playing level-wise. Lately, some sort of team "activity" comes up, and I'm asked to join in. Being the nice guy that I am, I usually offer up the option of which character to bring since I have a bunch to choose from, and I'd prefer to bring what's most beneficial to the team. Of course, this apparently pisses people off because I'm not making the decision - god forbid when they say "bring whatever you want, whatever you'll have fun playing" I want to bring a character 20 levels lower because hey, that's what I'll have the most fun playing today.
So um, do we need a healer? Do we need a tank? Do we need DPS?
Just bring whatever.
You're the one building the team, what do you want me to bring! I'm going to get bitched at anyway for not bringing the right thing in the end.
So apparently it has caused some tension lately, and I was "spoken" to the other day by my sister about it.
Basically it all boiled down to "It's a fucking game sis! Your husband needs stop thinking it's an all important relationship-defining tool." or something of that nature. I'm not paying $15 a month to have someone tell me how to entertain everybody else in the game.
Oh well. Watching adults act like my children do is actually not entertaining to me. /rant
