appeal college rejection?

I just got rejected from uc davis. Anyone ever appeal to a school before?

It says that i need to have compelling information regarding personal circumstances and its impact to personal performance, and possible errors in your application.

3.2 gpa weighted
major: asian studies

i'm just worried that since I didnt get into ucdavis, I wont get into the other schools. So can anyone give me tips on writing an appeals letter?

just go to some High School 2.0 junior college and transfer...

being rejected by the college you want to go is not the end of world.

I'm glad I decided to go to junior college. My parents wanted me to but I really wanted to get away and go to Longbeach State, but soon after I realized that "wanting to get away" isn't really the best reason for going to college for a lot of people. High school GPA was 3.0 w/1280 SAT, JC so far I have a 3.6 and I could sign a guarenteed contract to get into Davis (maintain a 2.9 and it's automatic) if I wanted.

You're wasting your time with the appeals process.

Go to a JC, then transfer to UC Davis.

i dont think 3.2 is in the ballpark for ucdavis..but i havent checked lately. when i got admitted like 6 years ago most people had a 3.5-3.6 and from what ive heard its gotten harder. i would suggest going to JC like others suggested, easier to transfer in.

Normally a 3.2 wont get you into any UC except Riverside and Santa Cruz, but I'm not sure how competitive Asian Studies is. With budget cuts and increasing applicants, I think appealing is a waste of time in your situation unless you really feel as though your scores shoudl've gotten you in.

if you are going to appeal, you DEFINITELY need compelling evidence, such as why some of your grades are as such (i.e. teacher failed the entire class because they were vindictive) or something phenomenal that you did not mention on your application (i'm a national westinghouse competitor)

if you're trying to transfer in, look at the transfer agreement between the two schools and see if you meet all the criteria.

i had a friend that got rejected from UC Davis but got into UCLA, so its not necessarily the end of the world (freshman admits). hopefully its not the only school you applied to (picked some solid safeties i hope) and it should be ok.
