I agree it is a little expensive, $199 and it'd be sweet. But it still looks nice and is really tiny. Wait a few months or find a deal to get it for $200ish. If I didn't already have my 15gb one I'd consider it.

I'm surprised that the battery life on the mini's is the same as the normal Ipods. I would've expected at least some improvement. Oh well still overpriced and not getting my money.

$199 it'd be sweet, but I'd consider it at $250, if I didn't already have a 15 GB.

Hmm I really want one. But $50 gets me 10 more gigs. Arg!! If it was $199 I would be sold for sure. Blah, I dunno what to do... Or what colour to get. Pink?

Edit: After some more though ( 2 mins ) I have decided I will indeed be getting one. I suggest everyone hit up their feedback form and tell them to lower it to $199.

I was going to get a PDA, but I think this will do the contact/calander thing well enough. So here I come, now I have to decide on a colour.... I'm honestly tempted to get pink!

I wouldn't say it is a total ripoff, 256mb/512mb mp3 players current go for $100-$200 and this blows those away imho. This is obviously a luxury item, but I bet once you get one you won't believe why you waited to get one.

Yep, it's not meant to compete with regular-sized Ipods and other HD-based products. It's aimed at the people who are looking for a SMALL player, and were previously buying the flash-based players.

yeah, it's not a TOTAL ripoff. a bit expensive still.. but i think a 2GB $150 model would have been great... that would damn nearly kill the flash based ones... of course, i doubt they could pull off the production costs and whatnot... hence, we get the 4GB/$250.

damn small tho. i want to trade in my 10GBer... heh

why would you? its still a hd player. its still got a screen, its still got to power headphones. its got even less battery space. so why would you expect it to really last longer?

Damn, I go out to lunch and I miss the announcement...I'm super happy that it's announced, but the $249 is still a bit weird...I guess I'll decide after the Apple store (or some retailer) gets them in-store so I can hold it and see exactly how small it is.

1. Pink?!?! I'm not wild about the other colors either. How about a nice black or silver?

2. Requires Firewire or USB 2.0. Drat, I'd have to upgrade my mobo or buy a port card.

3. Good competitor for High-End Flash MP3 players. The question is: Is it as durable? Can you drop this thing a few times on the gym floor and still have it work?

Maybe if it drops to $200 I'll think about getting one.
