What are they called again? PODcasts? Not zunecasts?

I've met people in IT who use AOL. A job does not define a person.

And I'm aware of Apple's role in Iran. Jobs has 4 confirmed kills.

Are you insinuating that anything with the word 'pod' in it is an apple product? *sigh* Apple really has won then

They won when "ipod" became synonymous with "portable digital player". Traditionally companies whose names become synonymous with their product (kleenex, band-aid, etc.) have pretty much "won". PODcasts were unthinkingly named as such after the ipod, the sheeple (shapple?) never missing a beat in their praise of their lord and creator, Steve Jobs, for his innovation.

I listen to podcasts every day. I've never owned an iPod and don't plan to. Stop being a douchebag.

From the king of them himself  Calling an mp3 a podcast serves only one purpose, furthering the Apple empire. Stop being such a tool.

You don't even know what a podcast is do you? Your posts make you sound like an idiot.

I give up, it's like as we become more secular we just worship alternative gods instead of actually doing any thinking. Sorry to interrupt your worship. Apple is god. All hail the pod. Apple is god. All hail the pod.

:disgust: And you have no clue what a podcast is, please tell me what came before a podcast and why Apple made it so popular that makes you so bitter?

people will really argue about anything on atot, won't they...

I can remote into work, it works so easy with Exchange servers and isn't a nightmare with self issues certificates for SSL, while there are 50,000+ apps and probably 90% of them are hokey that still leaves 100's of great apps I like.

Suck it down haters, your phones are second rate..

A laptop that can only have one app open at a time? WOW sounds great. Where do I sign up? What other phone have you had that hasn't worked with Exchange Servers???

The funniest part about the iphone bashers (I was one) is that most of them have never even used one. Then when they finally break down and buy it go "this is the greatest phone ever"

My buddy just got one and was mad at me for not being more convincing when I told him how incredible it is.

There's also no user changeable battery.

Seriously, I spent 6 long, long months looking at phones and EVERY phone has a laundry list of cons. The iPhone blew everything else out of the water.

By the time you need a new battery, you're going to be getting a new phone anyways.

Well the problem is I'm married to the phone now, and it runs out of batteries in ~5 hours if I use 3G alot (which I do). It woulda been nice to have a few extra batteries =P

I love that argument too. Are you really multitasking on a fucking WM phone? Kinda funny since of the 8 WM phones I had, every single one of them would crash on a regular basis, overheat, melt my hand, etc. But that sweet sweet multitasking was well worth it.

Or do you have multiple apps open and then split the 3" screen so you can look at them both at the same time? Sounds pretty sweet.

You know what you never, ever ever ever have to do with the iphone? Go to the task manager to close down 18 of the 40 apps running on a 300mhz cpu with 128mb ram that is melting the internals of the phone.

You can buy add on batteries that will charge the battery in the phone to use when you can't get to a charger or computer.

BTW, just my 2 cents:

I'm not a mac guy, but I love the iPhone. It just simply works and is the most intuitive phone I've ever tried.

It's funny how every other similar phone has a huge learning curve compared to the iPhone. BBs are just so convoluted compared to the simplicity of the iPhone.

The day that Apple released the update with copy & paste this little punk got on the elevator with a buddy and he was showing the buddy his iphone and how it could copy and paste now. He was so freaking excited I thought he was gonna mess his pants. So I pulled out my Palm Treo 650 (released in 2004) and showed it to him.

I have one of these for my 2g iPhone. It really comes in handy when going on vacation, or extended car trips where I am not able to charge my phone.

As far as the "no multitasking" is concerned, there is a Jailbroken app called "Backgrounder" which allows you to partially multitask. They are not upgraded to the 3.0 firmware yet, but on 2.2 I was using it to run Pandora and surf the web simultaneously. Not perfect, but it's a workaround.

I'd rather have the choice to burn my hand off with 20 apps open if i want than have a company tell me what i can do and have on a phone. I've never had my hand melt off either but with recent iphones, it seems to be a problem. I've never had a winmo phone crash on me and 99% of the time when something crashes, the problem is PEBKAC. The AT&T network sucks as far as coverage and speed goes. Also i could never live without a physical keyboard. Having a spare battery in emergencies is pretty much needed as i cannot be without my phone at all. I also like to be able to expand my memory as i see fit and the slingbox is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

What pisses me off about the iPhone 3Gs is that many of the "new" features could have be enabled on the existing iPhone 3G with the 3.0 software update... but they got greedy and crippled the software update on older phones.

Video capture? A jailbroken iPhone 3G could already do that. Hell... even Ashton Kutcher had it on his phone.
Voice control? The iPhone 3G already had third party apps (like Say NOW) available that could do that.

The only real "new" features in the iPhone 3Gs are a faster hardware and a compass... the rest is all done in software.

Symbian/Winmo have probably more apps but the number of apps don't matter, it's quality apps that matter and since Apple has the quality control, there are more "quality" apps on iphone but I'm sure there are more apps on Symbian/Winmo phones.
