I think that one feature would be the one that would prevent me from ever getting an iPhone. I contrast that with my Blackberry and I was showing a friend of mine where I had a YouTube app, Pandora, Google Maps, BB Browser, Opera Browser, and a Facebook app all running at the same time.
We are now gunning for the Palm Pre, but we are currently on Verizon and waiting for it to come out for them.

This was my largest gripe with the iPhone as well. I actually REFUSED to get one because I hated the keyboard. I got used to it in 30 minutes.

I realize you were trying to prove a point, but there's no practical reason to have all those apps running at the same time. The only multitasking I wish I was able to do is run pandora + any other app at the same time. Besides, does your google maps have a compass? =P Still, all the pro's far outweigh the cons IMHO. YMMV

One large con in a sea full of pros
There's more than one con but this isn't the thread for it,
I love that argument too. Are you really multitasking on a fucking WM phone? Kinda funny since of the 8 WM phones I had, every single one of them would crash on a regular basis, overheat, melt my hand, etc. But that sweet sweet multitasking was well worth it.
Or do you have multiple apps open and then split the 3" screen so you can look at them both at the same time? Sounds pretty sweet.
You know what you never, ever ever ever have to do with the iphone? Go to the task manager to close down 18 of the 40 apps running on a 300mhz cpu with 128mb ram that is melting the internals of the phone.
I'd rather have the choice to burn my hand off with 20 apps open if i want than have a company tell me what i can do and have on a phone. I've never had my hand melt off either but with recent iphones, it seems to be a problem. I've never had a winmo phone crash on me and 99% of the time when something crashes, the problem is PEBKAC. The AT&T network sucks as far as coverage and speed goes. Also i could never live without a physical keyboard. Having a spare battery in emergencies is pretty much needed as i cannot be without my phone at all. I also like to be able to expand my memory as i see fit and the slingbox is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

So how do you run 20 apps? Do you hook the phone up to an external monitor? Do you tile all 20 so they fit on the 3" screen? No? THen what the fuck is the point (only exception being pandora, but with an ipod its not that much of an issue)?
You must not use your phone much then, every "awesome" WM phone I've ever used (blackjack 1/2, half a dozen HTC, moto Q) has crashed... repeatedly.
Can't use ATT as an argument against the phone itself, ATT has the best coverage for me.
Sling is on the iphone. Everywhere I go I have wifi access.
You can buy a battery pack for it that works fine
Not having to deal with 17 different .5"x.5" sd cards is one of the greatest features of the iphone.
But thats not even the point. From a pure usability standpoint, the iphone destroys every other phone, easily. Best browser, best media capability (by 10000%), best interface, best apps, best games, best video editing (and only?).....so, yeah. I guess if being able to max out your 300 meg cpu with 15 apps, 11 of which you're not using, is your idea of a great phone....then there's no point in arguing. I'll take all of the above listed and deal with a few minor shortcommings over having to use a shitty WM type phone.

this one.Apple has put some sort of mind control chip in the iPhone. When I have to use any other phone, I literally want to throw it against the wall. I have never owned an Apple product before this, or had any desire to buy one. And now I preach about how much I love my iPhone and try to get everyone I know to buy one. Every phone has cons, none have the pros my iPhone does. It baffles me when I think about how much I really love my phone. I'll be playing around with some of the features, some 100+ times and still find myself going "wow kick ass!" I was just flicking thru Coverflow and it still impresses me. I can't possibly see any other company releasing a phone I'd buy, it's going to take something beyond amazing to get me to even consider another phone. Between my iPhone and my iPod Touch I probably spend 4 hours a day on them (none of it talking) I have to admit that Apple has made me a believer.

Symbian/Winmo have probably more apps but the number of apps don't matter, it's quality apps that matter and since Apple has the quality control, there are more "quality" apps on iphone but I'm sure there are more apps on Symbian/Winmo phones.

I've met people in IT who use AOL. A job does not define a person.
And I'm aware of Apple's role in Iran. Jobs has 4 confirmed kills.
Are you insinuating that anything with the word 'pod' in it is an apple product? *sigh* Apple really has won then
They won when "ipod" became synonymous with "portable digital player". Traditionally companies whose names become synonymous with their product (kleenex, band-aid, etc.) have pretty much "won". PODcasts were unthinkingly named as such after the ipod, the sheeple (shapple?) never missing a beat in their praise of their lord and creator, Steve Jobs, for his innovation.
I listen to podcasts every day. I've never owned an iPod and don't plan to. Stop being a douchebag.

No, I just hate elitist snobs who will bash anything "popular" because they think it makes them look cool. Notice how you can't refute anything I stated? Cause they are all true.
I hate apple as a company, hate their OS, hate their computers, hate their advertising and prices....but at the same time, I can admit when they actually made a killer product and won't bash it just cause it sold 100 million units.

No. There are not more apps on Symbian phones. S60 is a terrible piece of shit. I think anyone has to admit this. The hardware that the phones run is amazing but with this software... Ugh.

AT&T's 3G Sucks ASS
It might be great where you're sitting at the moment, but it's not awesome. I saw 3G deadspots walking from the damn Apple store after I got my 3GS to grab a bite. Then as I was in line last weekend to grab some Froyo, my internet just could NOT download. Granted there was an Iran rally walking past me, but hey I can't even TwitPic?
