They claim the iMac G5 to be 200% faster than the iMac G4 in Halo and UT2k4 at 1027x768.

Too bad both machines come with the same fx5200 and the difference is only 12%

Not having paid close attention to Apple's iMac G5 web pages, I didn't realize that Apple had compared the iMac G5 and iMac G4 using the same two 3D games that I chose. Their results showed the iMac G5 to be as much as 212% faster than the iMac G4. My results showed it to be 12% faster at most.
My report obviously got Apple's attention because they contacted me to see what I was doing differently. We compared notes and found out we were doing many things differently. As of today, October 4th, Apple has shared 100% of what I need to know to replicate their tests involving Halo and Unreal Tournament 2004.

WHERE'S THE HALO GRAPH? The good news that we spent all day today tesing an iMac G5/1.8 and iMac G4/1.25 side by side. The bad news is that I'm voluntarily withholding the results until we can figure out why Apple's iMac G4/1.25 is getting only HALF the frame rates we're getting. Either my numbers are wrong or theirs are wrong. Neither of us are sure.
WHERE'S THE UT2004 GRAPH? Again, we spent all day today tesing an iMac G5/1.8 and iMac G4/1.25 side by side. However, I'm voluntarily withholding the results until we can figure out why Apple's iMac G4/1.25 is getting only HALF the frame rates we're getting. Either my numbers are wrong or theirs are wrong. Neither of us are sure.
