If you plan to get a refurb get it directly from Apple. They give them the same waranty of a new Ipod. Do a search and read some of the previous thread of users who have purchased Ipod refurbs. Including myself a refurb from Apple is like a new Ipod!!

do a search in previous threads or go to ipodlounge.com. Apple refurbs are solid. I would get I from anywhere else but from Apple though. As previously mentioned stear clear of this deal though

Please don't comment on something you don't know about. Refurbished ipods are TOP NOTCH, almost EXACTLY the same as new. 95% of the time you'd be unable to determine that it is refurbished. Not to mention that it comes with the same full warranty...DONE DEAL. However, I'm not sure if there is a difference between Overstock's refurb ipods and Apple's. Buying refurb ipods @ apple.com though is a great deal, and you should have no worries.

I know this is OT, but I have to ask cause I am looking to get an ipod over the weekend...What are the plans for new ipods? Should I wait a little while for something better to come out or for prices to drop? Any help would be appreciated...please don't flame!

Too bad you can't compare mp3 players like you can hard drives. The ipod is definitely worth the extra $100 over the DJ. If you don't know why, use both of them side by side and you'll know.

Why don't you indulge us because I'm having a hard time here.. Ipod 6-8 hours battery vs DJ's 15 hrs.. DJ has an optional remote with FM Tuner/FM recording.. Maybe I'm missing something?

Why don't you do exactly like I said? Sure, we can sit here and compare specs all day long, but have you ever personally used both side by side? You can sit and spew specs left and right, but you can't tell the difference until you use both of them side by side, in person. There's a reason the ipod has over 70% of the mp3 market.
