Just wish Apple wasn't so copy-protection oriented. I would rather not use iTunes to transfer songs onto it.

Damn you, Apple. Like a consumer chump, I bought a Shuffle because it was small. Apparently, you listened to people like me who didn't like the fact that I couldn't see what was playing and instead had to guess (happens sometimes when a family shares their music library and buys a lot of music).

This looks pretty cool, but I got burned as an early adopter of the Shuffle. I'll wait at least 6 months before I even consider getting it.

Well, you should have spread the gospel to CompUSA.

I still like my Shuffle, but it has its limitations. There are competiting lower-priced devices with more features and similar capacities as the Shuffle, but that's to be expected.

What makes this most interesting to me, however, is how this might drive the prices of other iPods down as demand for the nano increases and demand for the others decreases.

they probably had the idea or nano a long time ago but apple will milk all the money out of the ipod hype. my gf got me my shuffle, and i turned from an ipod hater to a ipod lover. now they probably jerked up the shuffle up some designer's arse to hold out and to milk some more money on shuffle and mini.

this replaces both shuffle and mini. and i WANT ONE!

I've always been the sort to let gadgets get refined before I buy.

I had a goal that I'd decided to buy a digital camera on - when SLRs hit 10 MP for <$1000, I'd buy one. Well, that went to hell when my daughter was born and I got a DRebel.

For portable music, I'm content to wait until I can seamlessly and painlessly (no wires hanging, except perhaps a power connection) bring my whole library of CDs (about 90G now, encoded as very high quality mp3s) with me, including into my car (wireless, but NOT over FM), with enough battery power to get me through about 6-8 hours. And I'll wait until I can get it for sub-$200.

Why am I posting here then? Hooray for people who buy these and drive the improvements I'm waiting for

Though I gotta say... it's pretty damned cool looking... Apple's always had great industrial design.

Uh..Rivan, you could pretty much accomplish the car thing now...well..I dont know why you want wireless so bad..but you could otherwise. IT would be retarded to require wireless for such a situation.

Creative's prices are always great and sometimes even better functionalities, but when you talk design, apple always win... hands down.
