Let us know!

No regrets on getting the white instead of the black. While I think the black is definitely cool, I just kinda like the classic Apple white. Since the black has taken off so well, it will be interesting to see if they come out with more colors, maybe as limited editions.

As far as sound quality, I can't tell much of a difference in quality between the nano and my 4th Gen iPod. One thing that I did notice was that it seemed to take a lot longer to load songs onto the nano compared to my older iPod. I'm not sure if it's merely the difference in using USB (nano) versus Firewire (iPod) but it definitely seemed to take longer.

I am really tempted to get this Nano but if the sound quality is the same as Mini, then I will pass.
Sound is just terrible. Apple never concerned about sound quality, it concerned about hyped image.

Apple does have a bad history with specs like frequency ranges, lcd response times, contrast ratios, etc.

Did you miss all the posts showing alternate ways of getting songs on the iPod, or do you not read so good?

You can use your music you currently have but itunes sucks because if it crashes, you can lose your music on your ipod.

This has to be the single lamest reason I've ever seen to hate on an iPod.

1. The odds of that are extremely slim.
2. Other software for other players isn't perfect either.
3. So what? Just retransfer them from your hard drive. Who doesn't have 4gb of free space on their hard drive? Do they even sell drives less than 50 gb anymore?

teh pwned g0lden member!

WTF are you babbling about. 1. The odds aren't very slim, I know at least 5 friends that have suffered that problem of the itunes crashing and deleting files on the IPOD (thats how I found out actually)
Yea I doubt there is much error that can occur with transferring files to an Iriver like a pen drive..
Uh, not everybody keeps all their music on their HDD, sure it's easy to retransfer it but some people actually think they can easily get the music off the Ish!t easily. Not everybody has the latest system so yes they've got drives smaller than 50GB  n00b.

1. I did not lie. It is being shipped to my sister. She goes to one of the listed institutions and is therefore qualified for the discount. The credit card used to make the purchase is mine. She is purchasing the iPod with my card since she does not have a cc

2. The "stupid form" was a list that had all qualifying schools broken down by state. It took 5 seconds to find my school.

3. It's $20, not $19
Actually, it's more than $20 if you factor in tax. It's $20.XX.

4. If saving $19 or $20 is not worth the hassle to you, then why are you in a Hot Deals forum?
There's people on this forum that would save $0.50 if they could.
If you save $0.50 here and $0.50 there, you can go to the dollar store and buy something nice.

I could have done the same, but it isn't worth my time. My sister attends a qualifying university as well. But $20? Come on. Just not worth it, to me.

And I know there are people who do anything to save $0.50 ... like the arseclowns who drive 10 miles across town to save 2 cents on a gallon of fuel.

At $20 a minute, that becomes $1200 an hour.
I assume your gross annual salary is more than ~$2.5 million per year?

I'm waiting for the day when Apple releases Ipod Nano 2 with 6GB+ memory and FM tuner. And native WMA format support certainly doesn't hurt, but I doubt it. That would be heaven...

My ipod mini just arrived today. I know some complain that UPS service sucks but mine came in just 2 days and i didn't even pay extra for express shipping...

Let me first start off by saying that even pictures do not do justice to just exactly how small this ipod is. Even the box housing the ipod is extremely small, and from first glance, the box looks more like a toy gift than a 250 dollar investment. After opening all the boxes, which by the way, are brillantly created and look absolutely elegant and classy, i found my way to the ipod nano.

The battery came already partially charged and it booted right up. WOW was i impressed by how vibrant and colorful the screen is. I never saw a screen this small show colors as bright and vibrant as this with the exception of the screens found on digital cameras. I immedietely started up my computer and installed Itunes. My only one complaint with itunes is the program is kinda buggy. It froze on me a couple of times and after it finished transferring the music, it still kept on updating my ipod. The actual capacity of the 4gb ipod is actually around 3.6gigs.

I didn't use the headphones apple provided and instead opted to use my sony mdr-ex71sl's i bought a few months ago. Man was I blown away by how amazing this device sounds! Using the same source(same mp3 files) I transferred a few albums over to my ipod. Leaving everything at default, the sound quality absolutely blows away the quality found on my md player(Sony MD420D) even when recorded at the best setting! What i immediately noticed was there was no hissing in the background that was found on all md's i recorded. Furthermore, the music overall sounded much more smoother and clear. Voices were sharp, each instrument sound became distinct. This is by far the most superior sounding mp3 player i've used. If you had any reservations about purchasing this because of the sound quality, let me assure you it's nothing short of excellent.

For 250 dollars, i couldn't think of a better mp3 player that i could have bought.

Nano arrived yesterday, go neighbors who sign for your FedEx package and deliver them RIGHT when you get home!

As stated above, pictures don't do the Nano justice. It's just ridiculously small. Lovin' every minute of my purchase...

I saw the Nano in person today and will say that it's the first IPOD I've actually really considered owning. I won't be getting one though since I'm a PDA user and will get MP3 and photo functionality from the PDA, but for those w/o a cellphone or PDA that already has these functions, and just wants something small to listen to decent music and show off pictures, this is (IMO) the coolest IPOD and worth a look. The display is sharp enough so photos come out clearly and look pretty good and the music sounds pretty good as far as MP3 players go. What I like is you can pocket this mofo along with a set of earphones in just about any pocket and won't even notice it, unlike the other IPODS.
