Non tech work means stuff like web surfing, YouTubing, watching streaming content, emailing, listening to music, Facebook, X, Intragran, Tic-Toc(banned), Office stuff like Words, Powerpoint, Excel, etc…? No video editing! No gaming!
I would go with a laptop that is aesthetically pleasing to you in size, shape, screen resolution, material and weights under 3 lb.! Maybe an ultraportable class!
If you can afford anything, go for Apple MacBook Air M3 with 16gb RAM and 512gb SSD unless you plan to store a lot of videos and photos, music and not used Apple’s iCloud storage, then go with a larger 1gb SSD. I am a junky for RAM so I will spend additional $200 for 24gb to max out the RAM limits. That just me!😳 16gb is more then enough for 98% of normal users.😁 Apple stuff is expensive for what you get! It luxury class item! Apple has refuse to go to OLED screens because they want to have an even more profit margin for their products. Macbook Air is fanless, completely silent laptop.😁 In May 7th, Apple will be announcing their next generation iPad Pro as a 1st OLED device!😳 The Air M3 is one of the fastest laptop on many metrics too!
In Windows, you get 3K or ultra 4K OLED screen resolution and ultra thin laptops! You need it now, go with an Intel 7 Ultra 155H CPU. If you can wait 2 months, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite SoC will be release, better performance then Apple’s M3 SoC but you need to use emulation software to run X86 Windows apps that are not ARM based Windows apps. In Windows laptop, you get much more for much less 💰!
HP 17 - are you saying you want a 17" screen size?
