Wow. I have a G3 Pismo right now, and those seem to sell on Ebay for $600 or so (can anyone comment on this?). If I can get $600 for that, I could upgrade from 400mhz G3 to the entry-level G4 for $250 after rebates...that's awesome.

You can get a bigger HD, but not as the stock model. It's a BTO upgrade. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't sell those. You'd have to get 14" iBook or else a PowerBook to get a rebatable machine with bigger drive from Amazon, but of course, those machines cost more.

No, but it is better to buy it after market, since it's cheaper. The fact that you can't upgrade the hard drive without pulling out two dozen screws and voiding the warranty really drives me away. Those awesome dell deals look better to me, even though apple build quality > dell's.

Is it worth the price difference to upgrade from the lower 15" model to the higher end? The main difference I see is a bit faster cpu, more ram (which you could just buy 3rd party which would be cheaper) and larger hard drive (which is good since you can't change that yourself).
