all right, so this is a pc forum, but I know there are people that use both. truth be told, what is your preference all around? in Video Production I prefer apple second to none. there is no doubt that it is the ultimate machine for editing video. but for everything else I prefer pc. what are your thought?

I like Apple, x86 based PCs, and Sun. I'm sure I'd like Alpha stuff if I ever bothered to put the board I have into a machine, and SGIs if I had one.

dual g5 for family comp? lol.....

my family has a 233mhz pentium that i thought did the job fine, yet my dad insisted on me getting him a new pc and because of cheap frys deals i got a 2200+ (welli have the 2200+, he has the 1700+ ) and 512 megs of ram and i still think its overkill

the only macs i've used recently were total POS. they crashed whenever you ran acrobat, and there was no way to reboot them other than pulling the plug. got sooooo aggravating. but my friends use them for graphics and photoshop and say theirs works fine so I imagine the ones that apple sent my university were just defective or something. but I love PCs, well, I like windows, I know how to use it. If i knew how to use the Mac OSX I would probably like it. but first Id rather learn linux. heh.

Sounds like idiot-admin syndrome.

I use both. I prefer Macs to PC's in all honesty (even though I own a PC computer business), but I run a few select software apps that are only available on a PC. Virtual PC ran way too slow on my G4 iBook, and the Power line is a bit too expensive for me.

PC because I know how to deal with windows if it starts acting up, and I like to game. I have no prblems working with macs though, and I'm using an OS X theme on winXP.

I have used both. I like my Ibook right now except that Office X doesn't have Access, which I need for class. Other than that. OS X is a cool OS.

I've used both.

The mac ran out of memory too often and annoyed bc it was so dissimilar to the pc. I dunno. it drove me crazy at how simple it was. nothing to tweak and customize to my heart's content. plus my pc was faster

I'd rather have a PPC-970 than any x86 hardware.

Alas Windows won't work on a PPC-970, so none of my games will work. I like to play games.

I prefer my Powerbook for everyday tasks, but you cannot replace a PC when it comes to gaming. Therefore I like both, they have their individual purposes, which works for me.
