I use both depending on what my current needs are. But I do prefer using Macs in general.
n0cmonkey, I think they were refering to consumer friendly desktop OS's.

Your thread title doesn't make sense. A Mac is a PC, as in Personal Computer.
Should be Apple vs. Wintel (WinAMD) or Apple vs. WIn-x86.

but does the os's run windows games on them? not really... thats really the only reason to stick with windows today, is because they have all the games. everything else is done much nicer(faster/easier) on something 'not windows'(mac, linux)

jeeze people, if you are all going to become so damned technical then of course a mac is still a pc. realize this though, do not most people consider an IBM-compatible system a pc and a macinstosh pc just a macintosh or apple?

It is possible to use an XP emulator but why is the better question. Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) is a killer Operating System. I can use Microsoft office built specifically for the Mac which is much superior to the Office for XP due to the much better app integration. The games argument is true but this will change because the video cards are much better since Mac G5 use AGP and were the first to adopt PCI-x. Check out the new Nvida pci-x card which uses multiple DVI for the new 30 inch monitor Apple has coming out.

There are plenty of OSes available that are much more consumer friendly than anything put out by Microsoft.
