The only thing I care about are price and if there is app functionality I can leverage during a workout. If it will integrate with an app (possibly the health app, but I doubt it) that will display exercise, reps, allow me to tap when I'm done ,and a time starts before the next, I will be happy. Otherwise, no dice!

Yeah, I would prefer something like this over the exercise band/watch combo I've used in the past, but those are much cheaper, and I only ever used them for exercising. For everyday and all day type use, this thing seems pointless. I'm still watching the live blogs, and everything they're demonstrating seems like useless geekness.

Even if it were $200 I wouldn't buy it. At $400, not a chance. At $125, maybe for exercising only.

I think it looks kind of bad, and I'm annoyed that it requires an iphone.

Maybe it will look better IRL? :hmm:

Fsck, this Apple Watch keynote is long as hell, and totally uninteresting. Just tell us the pricing already.

Starting at $349.

Ha, no thanks.

They never even mentioned battery life, which makes me think it sucks.

The only thing I've thought was more stupid in recent years from Apple after hearing about the first time was the no-button iPod shuffle.

We'll see how this Apple Watch sells, but my guess it will be closer to the no-button shuffle category than the iPad category.

I don't know what you expected. All those things you went "meh" on are all the things that watches can offer. They simply do not jive with your lifestyle, no biggie.

I thought it looked very well made and well thought out. I'll have to reserve aesthetic judgement until I see it in person and hold it. I like how they are offering so many customizations and surely there will be a huge difference in price between the aluminum/stainless sport line and the luxurious 18k gold line. Something that Apple can really bank on.

I would rather have a circular face. I don't think the square looks very elegant. The price is also a little high. Starting at $350 will surely be a rubber strap and cheap material even though that's a lot of money for an iPhone accessory.

I'm unsure what to think of it. I had a fitbit and took it back because I found that I didn't really need it at all. I'll not be an early adopter but I'm open to seeing how it pans out.

Its like anything else you can buy, if you use it you'll get your money's worth. I don't think I would, but I think looks alright. Looks better than any other smart watch I've seen so far, although I'll admit I don't pay that much attention to them.

My only problem is the only use I'd have for a smart watch is as a way to augment my gym time. I'd love to be able to have an app that lets me enter my workout, displays it, allows me to adjust the weight, and gives a timer. Simple and easy.

I was hoping the Apple Watch wasn't like all those other watches out there. However, the fact of the matter is that it seems just like everything else.

I thought it looked very well made
Well made, probably.

and well thought out.
Not convinced of that, given the keynote. Those apps in general looked really forced.

I too will have to reserve final judgement, but I can tell you I'm not buying an 18k gold electronic device that will be out of date in a year.

The Motorola looks prettier. Then again, reviews state that the Motorola interface is basically usuable.

I mean I hate watches. It could cook me dinner and teleport me and I'd still think it was a stupid relic soon to be replaced by the smartphone

Not really interested in the watch at first, however after the demo, I'm getting one! Apple Watch coupled with an iPhone and Apple Pay is PERFECT. I'm hoping I can get rid of my wallet. I hate using my wallet to pay, so if I can use a watch, it would be perfect. No more digging out my wallet, and sitting on it for hours. Also with airline tickets, that's awesome! No more paper boarding passes or digging out my phone to board the plain. Pretty awesome!

I want to know why phones haven't replaced my car keys yet. Eventually we'll just carry our phones, but of course, if your phone breaks/lost/stolen you are fucked with a capital F. Maybe that would be a good role for the watch. Backup in case something happens to your phone, your car still works and you can still buy shit.

My car just has a fob. There is actually a key, but it's hidden inside the fob.

The key is only used if the battery in the fob dies. In fact, you don't even need the battery to start the car, just the fob. The key is just to open the door.

Same goes for my RFID credit cards. No battery needed to use PayPass, which I've been using for several years now (Canada).

That's the thing, I have a fob for my car too, but I don't want to carry it. I don't want to carry credit cards with RFID. I want my phone to do all that. I just want to carry one thing. A giant ass phone.

I always a physical backup of some sort when travelling for example. Any electronic device can die for a number of reasons (not just because of the battery), or email can be unreachable. However, if you print out your boarding pass, you can still get on the plane. That actually happened to me. My iPhone ran out of power so Passbook was useless, but I had a hardcopy in my briefcase.

Same goes with credit cards, even more so. Many stores do not support RFID/NFC. But they all support credit cards or cash.

Seems a lot of people online are not too impressed with it. It's a very gimmicky device made (IMO) because Samsung did it.

The fact that it needs the iPhone to function means it isn't anything really revolutionary. It's exactly the same as every other "smart watch", just with a couple more bells and whistles.

I love that they have taken the crown from analog watches and found a good use for it. I'll def have a closer look at this!
