This watch.. all features. Gimmicks. No real benefits? What do I actually need it for? Apple was never about gimmicks. Why why why is it such an issue to reach in my pocket and look at my phone? I can see the point if it wasn't phone-dependent, the tether makes this a fail. Perhaps the point is to look at it only as a watch, with some gimmicks thrown in.
Phone in pocket is an issue, and a distraction at the gym. But i need it for music, running tracking and HR monitor sync. But why leave out the GPS? If Nike and Garmin can make GPS watches, why not apple? For a gym iPod, this is perhaps a decent option. It's light, might have some workout-tracking apps, and has HR monitoring which my nano has not. The digital crown might be better to use when sweaty, unlike my nano. The nike+ combo with the footpod is quite inaccurate though, and i was hoping they'd improve that.
Yeah but to be fair, what IS it supposed to do anyway? Other than maybe built-in GPS & 3G, what else is it supposed to do to make it interesting? That's the same issue I have with the new iPhone...yeah maybe they could have added a 2K screen or more megapixels, but other than that...I think waterproofing is about the only thing I wish they'd stuck in. I think both products are pretty well saturated at this point...
