So far my favorite part is the maps/navigation. The 'tap-tap-tap-tap' for right and 'tap-tap.... tap-tap' for left with the taptic engine is really cool, I drove all the way to carlsbad without looking down to see which way to turn or listening to 'TURN RIGHT' blaring out my speakers.
It's your money, but to me that seems awfully redundant. 3 devices to do the job of one.So far so good, and I'm using this crappy iphone 5c for pairing. I guess I'm not affected by the battery issue because my main phone is still my Samsung S6, I just carry the iphone for fitness tracking.

I actually have been using it to track sleep too. I take it off when I get home from work, charge for a couple hours and put it back on after dinner and it stays on all night. Battery life is at least what they advertise, and I'm using the 38mm model.

The heart rate monitor is awesome, apparently my heart rate goes down to 42bpm at night. I will have to ask my doctor about that because I am in great shape and that seems awful low.
For example, a young, strong, healthy athlete may have a resting heart rate of 30-40 beats per minute, but may easily increase his heart rate to 180 beats per minute with exercise. This is normal.
The deal breaker with me is the battery life.
Charging a watch daily is just not realistic.
Watches, are meant to last weeks, months or a full year without a charge.
Charging on a daily basis is the whole problem with this concept.
That is why such items have generally failed time after time.
Microsoft tired. Sony tried. Failed.
So, Apple is racist? I wonder, if this is even an issue, if this would affect black people.http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/30/us-apple-watch-tattoo-idUSKBN0NL0EU20150430

Now people with tattoos are complaining ...
This guy paid over $800 for this POS.

According to another article I read, black people shouldn't have a problem; the light that the AppleWatch is using should penetrate melanin. But tattoo ink is different from melanin, and harder for light to get through, specifically the light that Apple is using.

Well, there goes the entire Millennial market.

I doubt many people who have tattooed wrists would have the finances to purchase an Apple Watch.
The heart rate / health features are the least interesting to me. I really could not care any less about those features and I'm somewhat disappointed that it seems to be designed around those features.
What I care most about is:
- Tell time at-a-glance - ALWAYS. The Gear requiring a gesture to activate the screen is complete BS.
- Caller ID - so I know who's calling before I bother to dry my hands or set down what I'm working on to pull my phone out of my pocket.
- Reject a call without pulling my phone out of my pocket.
- ID an incoming call when I'm already talking on the phone.
- Music controls and track info.
- Basic app notifications - allowing me to selectively exclude certain apps from showing notifications on the watch.
- Tell me when I'm walking away from my phone.
That is quite an assumption. If you replaced "tattooed" with "black" or "asian" you would be considered rascist.
What do they call those who have a predisposition against those with tattoos? Don't get me wrong, I believe that most of us are subject to stereotyping others who are different from ourselves but your comment above seemed a little out-of-place here.
Really, in the greater scheme of things, this is a non-issue.
The other issues already mentioned are much, much bigger issues. Probably the biggest annoyance for me would be the fact that you have to shake your watch to see the time. IMO that totally defeats the point. I'd rather just wear a $10 Mickey Mouse watch. And for the hipsters, a $10 Mickey Mouse watch probably has more cred than a smartwatch.
So basically you want all the features available in the Pebble ... Just made by someone else?
And if I replaced "wrists" with "babies", I would be considered a child abuser! It is interesting how replacing words with other, different words changes the meaning of a sentence... I guess you just discovered this?
You sound like somebody who has tattoos :awe:
More like the Sony Ericsson MBW-150 from 2007, except still being made.
The Pebble would never be confused for a normal watch.
