Applying tint to car windows

I still don't have tint on my car, and I've been wanting it for a while now. Theres other stuff I need to buy as well, so I'm not in any huge rush, but I would really like to get it on before I do other stuff to my car.

I heard from a friend though, that it's best to apply tint to car windows in the summer... I can't remember the exact reasoning now, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Wouldn't you want to apply tint in the winter, when you don't need to roll down your windows, or is there something I don't understand?

Yes, wrong forum..

To answer your question, I was a professional tinter for over a year and still do it on the side. Long story short, if you plan to do it yourself - don't, have a professional do it.

But if you're question is simply if you should wait to take it to a tinter until summer, I wouldn't worry about it. Heat make the tint "cure" faster and take out some of the miscellaneous air bubbles that may have not been squeeged out (read: huge air bubbles never come out, they simply become stretched out and hideous). If you live up north and it's an average of 20 degrees right now, I'd probably wait a few weeks to let it warm up a bit -> but if you live in the south or if it is generally not tremendously cold at the moment, there's no reason to wait, it won't play a major factor in the quality of the tint.

And keeping your windows rolled up is done to prevent tint at the bottom of the window from being folded up when you roll down the window. Usually that takes a few days for the glue to fully stick as to prevent such an event from occuring.

Hope this helps!

Ack, sorry about posting in the wrong forum guys.

Thanks for the response though, Riv.

I plan on having it professionally done, sorry for not explaining that.

Where I live right now, lows are about 0, and highs are in the low 20s. It probably won't get above that for at least a month, so should I wait until then?
