The show cracks me up and irritates me at the same time. Why are they acting so retarded? Are they attention whores looking to score some post-show time on other shows or gigs?
Here are the two left standing:
Kwame was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Charlotte, NC; which he considers home. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Harvard. True to his entrepreneurial training at Harvard and the bounty of opportunities in the late 90's, Kwame was heavily involved in several "dot-com" start-ups during his time in business school. However, his Fortune 500 professional foundation includes sales and marketing roles at Procter & Gamble and, most recently, on Wall Street as an Investment Manager for Goldman Sachs.
William "Bill" Rancic founded cigarsaroundtheworld.com eight years ago in a 400 sq. ft. studio apartment. Today it is a thriving multi-million dollar national operation. The son of educators, he is a true entrepreneur, paying his way through college by starting a boat wash and wax business in the Chicago area. He is also an adventure junkie. When he is not making business deals he enjoys skydiving and scuba diving. In addition to his cigar company, Bill also develops real estate and speaks at universities and businesses around the country.
Ok. I have participated in two similar functions. I was on the board of the Tri-State Fair and Regatta. I had the responsibility of one city's night time musical entertainment. I hated that job. I'm glad I didn't have to handle the musical guests directly, just the operation of the shows. I think I have a permanant groove on my skull from the walkie-talkie headpiece that I wore for two weeks.
The other was a charity tennis match. Much, much better. But two things this Bill guy doesn't understand (Or maybe he will next week), you can't sit in an office for a sporting event and the hosting facility is never at your beck and call. You have to ask permission for everything. But in looking at the two events, I'd rather have the sporting event.
And what is this $1,000 seed money for? Do they have to buy the gift baskets or anything?
I wonder if I would have made the cut to be a contestant. I guess I'm not whorish enough.
