I took one for the AT team. I am very picky about bacon. This thing is pretty damn good. Not something I would eat regularly, but definitely nice as a change of pace.

If you've ever made candied bacon, it's basically that minus the heat. The bun does add to it nicely.

Fortunately, I've never been hungry enough to eat at Arby's.

The Brisket Smokehouse is freaking awesome, it may be the most underrated fast food item ever. I use to hate Arby's, but they have made a huge turn around in the past 3 years.

damn, now I wish there was an Arby's somewhere within 200 miles of me. ...well, not for this thing. It has mayo.

But I miss the roast beef, beef and cheddar...and to some degree, the Arby-Q. 5 for $5 was so glorious back in the day. And at a high school age, it was damn easy to process all of that bullshit you just put in your stomach.

This might be the single best fast food item ever, it's loaded with brown sugar bacon that's thick, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. They also have ham or roast beef + brown sugar bacon versions. It's on a Hawaiian King sweet roll.

I'm at a total loss for words.

I had no complaints about the taste of the brisket...but for how much it costs (equivalent to the B&C Max when they had it) it's woefully unsatisfying in the portion department.

Best recipe to make it at home, pat brown sugar on both sides of the then take a sprig of rosemary and put it underneath it and bake it in the oven, flipping once when the brown sugar starts to caramelize so the other side can caramelize. Sounds weird maybe, but I've made it about a dozen times. And 2 people who absolutely hate sweet + meat loved it. I'm going to go get the roast beef one tomorrow before I go to work. I'm still in disbelief that a fast food place was able to pull out Bacon that's this damn good. This bacon on a JiTB Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger would be orgasmic.

Let me tell you about this stuff I make called "candied bacon":

Place bacon strips on a baking pan with parchment paper. Mix together 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup of hot water, and 1 tsp of vanilla in a bowl. Brush the bacon with the mixture and place it in a 325F pre-heated oven for 20 minutes. Baste every 5 minutes or so. Continue cooking until the bacon is desired crispiness.

If you want to get adventurous, I've seen beer substituted for water in the baste. You ain't had a turkey sandwich until you've had a candied bacon turkey sandwich

Lots of variations to make it - we do just brown sugar with cayenne in it (no liquid). You are right though, that is basically what this sandwich is

been eating well the past few weeks and leaning up a bit, but there is an arby's near my work, may have to snag this one day for lunch. or may just get it on a road trip in a few weeks...

decisions decisions....

in general i am a fan of arby's, but i always get the french dip sandwich. that thing owns. and their fries also own, especially with their bbq sauce.

Ugh. Maybe it's good if you've never had a good brisket sandwich?
Granted, I only had it once, but the brisket was so fatty and rubbery I don't intend to try it again. I've got a good BBQ joint just a little further away so I can't see bothering with this... thing.

Had one. It was good, but too expensive to justify considering I enjoy a regular roast beef sandwich just as much (most of the time).
