Arctic Cooling 64 Fan repair

OK. So a replacement fan, direct from Arctic Cooling, would be $4. Obviously, ordering that is what I should, and probably will, do.

That said, has anyone taken apart a fan for an AC 64 Pro (or similar AC model fan)? Are there bearings that can be greased to get things spinning properly again?

It looks like the fan clips on to the mount on the side of the heatsinkvia little latches, do you have another 92mm fan you can try out? If so you could get a really nice 92mm fan for $8~ and quiet down the HSF.

I only used the fan on mine for about a week and i thought it was to loud.I ziptied a yate loon low speed 120 on it and it's been on it for about 4 years.The fan i have looks like you pull the sticker and the plug and oil it.If you want that fan you can have it,it doesn't even have dust on it

Yes. The fan attaches and detaches quite easily. As I said, a replacement is available direct from AC for a low price.

Yeah, I didn't think it was the quietest, but it didn't seem too bad. Then I put the stock HSF on today and realized how much noiser my system is now.

Ah, well. I'll pull it apart and see what happens.
