Arctic Silver 5 Premium Silver Polysynthetic Thermal Compound Good?

This stuff any good? Just got a 3.5gram tube and im wondering if its woth putting it on. Any thoughts? At this very moment my cpu is idleing at 44c and case is at 26c

Definitely! That stuff is the best in thermal compounds.

Really? Cool. Thanks for the response, i wasnt sure how good it was. Also whta should i use to clean off the compound thats on the chip right now?

its probably in one of the threads sonic said but I just use a high purity alcohol and a q-tip to clean the old stuff off

91% isoprophyl (rubbing) alcohol is the best stuff going. It cleans alot better than 70% too.

I have it, VERY good result.
I used to run at 52-53C with stock heat sink.
Now with AS5 + Arctic cooling heat sink, Runs at 36-38C.

What about "Ceramique" by Arctic Silver? They were out of AS5 and recommended this instead.

well i just used AS5 w/ a ZALMAN CNPS7000A-Cu Pure Copper and im freakin running at 50-51c. The only thing i can think of that i did wrong was that i didnt clean the heatsink when i installed it, but i dont think that would make much difference. I was thinking of oc'ing my P43.2, but man my temps are crappy. Ill have to trouble shoot tonight and probably end up taking off and cleaning both hs and chip thoroughly and hope that does the trick

People seem to like Ceramique a lot as well, you should be ok with either (though AS5 might perform a little better than Ceramique). Ceramique is not conductive so it is safer than AS5.
