Arctic Silver Ceramique

I've got an EVGA NF68 board on the way and after reading the EVGA forums it seems that EVGA didn't do such a good job with the TIM on the mosfets and chipset. A lot of the guys over there are saying to replace the stock TIM with some Arctic Silver Ceramique. They say it really helps with heat and failure issues. The thing is that I forgot to order some when I ordered my board from Newegg so I'm gonna call around locally to see if I can find some.

However, when I call up to ask for the stuff I don't wanna sound like a total noob and was wondering if it's pronouced "ceramic" or "cer-am-eek" (with a French accent). Go ahead and flame me if you want cause until last year I pronouced Radeon "radon" like the poisonous gas in your basement.

It's Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compound , it's better then AS 5 paste?

Flame you? LOL why would anyone do that. Rike is right of course it's "cer-am-eek" or even easier, "serra-meek". I ain't no English teacher but if I recall well all words ending in "ique" are French words imported "as is" and pronounced as "eek".

Well Ceramique is cheaper so I guess AS5 is, at least in theory, better.

Based on what I've read, you should use the Ceramique on your chipsets and mosfets because the ceramique isn't conductive at all whereas the AS 5 has potential to be slightly conductive. I heard you should only use AS 5 on the CPU and nowhere else.

I've used AS5 on GPU's several times and a chipset once with good results and no issues. You just have to be careful. AS5 typically performs a few degrees C better than Ceramique.
