I also have one & can recommend it highly. Even on "high" I can barely hear it, & it keeps the card nice & cool. It won't cool the ram, though -- you'll want to buy some lower-profile BGA ram heatsinks for that. I'd recommend copper heatsinks for ram. Make sure you don't have any big capacitors on your mobo next to the AGP slot, though, otherwise the VGA silencer might hit them -- I had to saw a chunk off my silencer to get it to fit on my Abit NF7. It wasn't hard to do, though.

I thought little of the small volume being pumped out the slots either till I came home one afternoon and my machine was locked up. Same thing the next day and when I tried to reboot all I had was garbage on the screen. It turns out that the fan was running BACKWARDS even though it was pugged in correctly. So my year old AIW9600pro which had run flawlessly but somewhat noisily died within two weeks of installing this cooler. My requests to Arctic Cooling were responded to only once by some guy named Stanley who showed little concern about the backwards fan rotation and never answered my question re: "Well, what are you folks going to do about this?"

Nest time it will be a fanless heatpipe cooler...or I will just put up with the noise.

I had one of these on my 9500@9700 Pro card, after the cooler install.. it lasted for a while.... but died and gets artifacts all over the screen, even in the BIOS! It worked fine with my water block, and worked fine for about a week with the Sliencer Rev 3. I'm not sure if it killed it or what, but I noticed that the back bracket has a spot in the middle that puts a lot of pressure on the card bending it if you wrench it down to much. So whoever buys this be careful not to tighten it too much, that's the only thing I can think of that would have killed my card.

I'm into silent PCs. While not completely silent, this thing is very quiet on "low". My system games well with no overheating of the card (R9800). Easy to install and still #1 on my list for cooling a card quietly.

One more note: The big heatsink that comes with this thing is probably perfect for adding your own custom fan in the event that the original goes out. It offers a large surface area and one could easily point a quiet 80mm fan in it's direction, or even across it in order to push air out of the case.

Sounds like Arctic Cooling owed you a new card.
