I like to game alot, I work 28+ a week, going to college, spend time with my girlfriend. There is nothing wrong with gaming. It better than these punk kids that go around doing drugs, drinking alcohol like there no tomorrow, or going around neighbor hoods destroying other people property or driving around and shooting and killin people.

i've gotta agree with the above statement. i used to play pc/console games 3-4 hours a day wasting time i could've spent doing more productive things. i had a job, a girlfriend, and even met my friends on the weekends, but i still consider myself a loser back in the day.

Maybe you should post a typical day for yourself then. So we can determine if your a loser or not. Frankly, considering you gave no basis for comparisson, as in how many hours you need to play to be considered a "loser" and what other factors should come into play - it should have been obvious that you might offend some people here. i work part time (to me feels like full time cuz of back/joint problems), currently single but through my own choice (me time!)....i did the pubbing/clubbing/partying thing to a death from the age of 13 to 25, nowadays i go out on the weekends mostly to restaurants, cinema, jazz bars etc to chill out.......during the week as working tires me out (due to my probs) i usually relax with a DVD and a few hours gaming.....probably about 4 hours gaming...a lot is CS:S, but i also like strategy games which tax your brain a bit more in the mathematical sense........however there are quite a few nights where i just read books and listen to music.....got plenty of friends, in a nice easy going job that pays me a reasonable wage for not doing too much work.

So i play mebbe 30 hours of games over a 7 day week, so what? my life doesnt make it easy for me to do as much other stuff, yet when it did i always did stuff (hobbies, sports etc)......so am i a loser now for gaming when less is available to me? (i'm not old old btw, im 28, but suffered arthritic probs since age 8)......no i'm not, i live a happy fulfilling life despite my medical problems, i generally offer a friendly face to those around me unless severely depressed, im a polite and well meaning person who is always happy to help someone else......

I suppose if someone only played games nonstop all day long, lived off state benefits/handouts and never lifted a finger to help anyone you could call them a loser, but if they contribute to others lives in any way (either by working or helping out people a lot) then they arnt losers, they just chose gaming as their hobby, the same way a lot of people play musical instruments etc.....

Depends on what one means by "hours each day"...if you mean those people who live to play Asheron's call or whatever and just vege out all day every day then sure....

Personally I generally game for about two hours most nights, sometimes 2 1/2 from about 11pm to 1am when my wife has gone to bed during the work week and then I don't play on weekends unless she isn't feeling well, I also go back to my old work occasionally because they have game nights...I am a loser but I try to only game when there is absolutely nothing else to do, generally I play battlefield and watch Law and Order reruns at the same time.

i dont see anything wrong with people wanting to game 5+ hours a day. Gamers they are not harming you or anyone else. When you are doing online gaming, you are interacting with 10's, 100's, 1000's+ people. Playing americas army for instace. You are talking with your squad leader how to approach the opposing side to take them out.
