if you game for hours each day you know who you are. Im not saying i never play video games. I played rainbow six on my xbox about 3 weeks ago. and I played bricks on my blackberry llast night for about 5 mins b4 bed.

the people who are getting mad the most in this thread are the ones that are neffing and gaming as we speak.....losers.

ok before i wade through the posts, let me rant a bit-my brother and i discuss this quite often.
We draw this comparison, my roommates gf used to always so, "you guys are playing games again, omg"
So my response was, well what do you do in your spare time? SHe watches TV and movies. My brohter and I dont watch TV in our free time, seriously, at school I have no cable. So in terms of wasting time, any other person does the same thing.

Also, we play mainly online games, and interact all the time on Teamspeak, creating groups in MMOs, or dif strats in an RTS style game. They get your brain working and interacting with people all the time.
You could even go so far as to say it helps you work with people, because you have to obtain a goal and everyone has a job-how are you going to do it?

We both go to parties, we both are college athletes, we both have girlfriends-we are definitely ACTIVE aside from being hardcore gamers. Its just we choose wisely when we game and how much, sure its excessive from your average person but we enjoy it and it hasnt destroyed our social life, if anything its created more friends!

You are talking with your squad leader how to approach the opposing side to take them out.

did you read my post?? It said of people that I've met in person in my life that gamed alot....I would not consider any of them worth my unpaid time. I didnt say they were bad people or that I had ap roblem with there lives. i really do not care if they play games 24/7 .

I guess so, but not by much. At least its interactive.
Yeah.

I would consider it the same. In the end you are just wasting your life.

Basically everything is just a waste of your life. We all have our own time on this earth to do with as we please. You not approving of one specific method of wasting time is insignificant when you consider the fact that in four hundred years, no one will even remember that any of us existed.

AND PWNING N00BS IS NOT ALWAYS EASY! JUST REMEMBER THAT!!!! Not everyone can be a Pro Gamer, but those of us who are, know the work involved.

You're totally generalizing. As if the people you've met are necessarily representitive of of all gamers.

Also, what constitutes a winner or loser? it's a matter of opinion.

In my opinion, having thousands of posts on a forum (I'm going to assume mostly in off-topic) spells loser to me.

I know at least a half dozen people I would consider true winners (smart, motivated, interesting) and they all play more then 15 hours of games a week.

so one of your definition of a loser is someone who games, and your other definition is someone who posts madly on a forum....so you are a loser yourself by the neffing definition......just because you post them at work doesnt make it any different, you are supposed to be working....i doubt your boss (unless your self-employed with no debts to worry about) would be too happy at the loss of productivity.....

oh and according to you, anyone who builds model planes is a loser, anyone who plays tennis (or any other sport) at a non pro/pro-am level is a loser, anyone who takes photographs as a hobby is a loser, in fact anyone with a hobby is a loser......

so basically if you are NOT a loser, that means you go to work, then come home, sit in an armchair and do nothing (well, eat dinner obviously) until bedtime, then you sleep, wake up, go work, come home, do nothing, go sleep......damn, if doing something i enjoy makes me a loser i'm happy to be a loser!....i have a life, it moves nicely, AND i game for quite a few hours....

i suggest you look at yourself before calling other people losers....

oh and no, i'm not riled up and angry or anything, im just doing what your doing, neffing at work and being a loser

i used to stay home all the time and play battlefield and CS source all evening. Even on weekends. Yes, I considered myself a loser.

I sold my gaming PC and my PS2, and I'm doing much better.

it is obvious its a generalization any fool could see that but thanks for pointing it out. Of course like any rational person my opinions are going to be based on my real life experiences and as of now thats what they have been for me. Perhaps i'll meet my best man in the next year and he will be a game freak so then maybe my opinion would change. that is just what it is now based on my lexperiences.

Well, I guess then you asked a question you really don't want answered. You've decided that your experiences say one thing, ask others for confirmation, and you simply attack those that disagree.

The definition of a loser ... defined by you, by your own thread attacking others. cool.

right because sitting at your computer and clicking buttons is the same thing as building model plains and playing tennis. Can't say i've met any non professional that played tennis or built model planes for hours and hours each day.

"if the shoe fits ..... "

Do you consider yourself a winner? Or are you simply going to ignore that post?

To answer your question, your poll is an attack. Simply because you provide no background and no definition to the terms your tossing around like "loser." Given that gamers get a lot of flack, those who don't consider themselves losers are going to feel attacked by your assumptions.

You know what? This is the first time I have NOT chosen the "gigapet is a loser and an idiot and he needs to STFU" option in one of your polls.. Strange.. But I agree w/you

How the hell does this work?

Average television viewing per week for Americans is 29 hours per week for an adult male and 34 hours per week for an adult female, which is somehow perfectly acceptable.

If someone plays video games for 4 hours per day they are an addict or loser that will go postal at any moment.

couldnt agree more with what you say, specially with the stuff like using Teamspeak and creating groups/clans.......

i rarely watch TV myself, a few comedies i like and a couple of topical quiz shows, i certainly dont bother with reality TV...no interest at all.....but then that might be because there isnt any real interaction, the comedies i guess are just to keep the laughter going in my spirit, the quiz shows i try and answer the questions......but its still limited to me and the box.....With games you are actually trying to do something yourself use your brain to solve problems etc....and with multiplayer games you are doing it with other people, just because they are not in the room with you doesnt make it different, its still interaction with your fellow man/woman....but quite simply, gaming is a hobby, there are many hobbies, what makes gaming lesser than any of them? nothing....nothing whatsoever...

and look at Fatality, definite WinnaR! makes money, everyone knows him, branded products after his name (im presuming he is copyrighted/patented whatever as well), jets all over the place, well regarded.......or is he a loser too?....heh
