Are credit card companies that dumb, or is my credit really that good?

That's messed up, something is wrong. Does your credit have some blemishes or are you a credit virgin? It has to be one of those two.

Stupid Capital One sent me a pre approved Platinum offer for $100.. I was like wtf??

The mailer I got said $200 minimum and $5000 maximum. Their website says $10k maximum.

The good thing about Capital One is that if you're not on a secured account they're pretty generous with limit increases after a while. On my gold account they started automatically rasing my limit by $100 every month since I always pay my Capital One accounts off entirely every month. And, they don't charge limit increase fees like some companies...*cough* Providian *cough*

I just like being able to handle my accounts on-line (for free) because I'm a lazy, impatient bastard. On-line payments go through pretty quick!

Well I started out with that credit card for ppl in high school, now I"m in college and I have that stupid platinum card, with a whopping limit of $1500. I've had a capital one card coming ont 3.5yrs now and I always pay it off in full. They wouldn't raise my limit

I have a house, two cars, a boat, and 10 credit cards and I have $15 less debt than that.

Yeah, I have a judgement on my credit history. It's been paid for two years, doesn't come off until '07, though.

Yeah, I have a judgement on my credit history. It's been paid for two years, doesn't come off until '07, though.

Ouch, well hopefully after that judgement comes off you'll have a chance to re-build your credit.

Unfortunately as you know it will be a slow process.
