the US spent 10+ yrs and $BILLIONS$ on training Iraq police and military.

they have no problems fighting when US soldiers were also in the fire fight.

but w/o the US, they retreat often.

and now the entire freaking police and military of the 2nd largest city in Iraq runs?!

WTF? cowards? or...?

Think of it this way. Their brave men were already killed in the past decade of war. They are not educated or trained to be anything remotely like the professionals we associate with our military.

They are human, and that makes them flawed. Their country was just gutted by US forces, and then repeatedly by terrorism. They are traumatized and have nothing proud to stand for. They are demoralized. They don't have proper leadership.

What would they fight for? Maybe they don't even know.

Their leadership did not rise through the ranks. They were appointed. That's why there's a cluster fuck.

So we go in and kill or cause to be killed hundreds of thousands of them to forward our agenda without concern for what will become of their nation. Then they are supposed to be grateful for the death we gave them and the way of life they never wanted? Well I guess someone hasn't thought that through. d

The trained professionals are leading the ISIS now
They have lot's of nice toys too

The ISIS mainly use captured American weapons, vehicles and uniforms. ISIS members have been seen wearing the standard US Army Combat Uniform along with the Interceptor body armor. For night raids, night vision goggles are also used. Some of the weapons include M16 rifles, M60 machine guns, M240 machine guns and RPGs. Some of the vehicles include Humvees, MRAPs, M113 APCs and several T-55 tanks. When the ISIS captured Mosul Airport in June 2014, several UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and cargo planes that were stationed there were seized.[54][55] However, according to Peter Beaumont of the Guardian, it seems unlikely they would be able to deploy them because they do not have trained pilots in their ranks.

George W. Bush: I’m ‘not too worried’ about how history will judge me

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/11/...-too-worried-about-how-history-will-judge-me/

Some of his incredible paintings he's done since he's left office and put Cheney in charge of raping the country while he was there.

And he'll still get a stupidly high priced President Library, our tax dollars at work.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_library

These things still piss me off a lot thought we had things in Washington all ready for things, the first time I saw the money spent on these actually pissed me of long ago.

30,000 heavily armed & well equipped Iraqi security forces fled in the face of 800 ISIS fighters. Draw your own conclusions.

They dont really want to be free. If you are not willing to fight and die for freedom, then you dont deserve it. Iraq was a fools errand. When Congress voted to approve the war in Iraq, I sat in my kitchen and I told my wife that as soon as our troops get involved over there that the terrorists will climb out of the woodwork just like cock roaches. Not one more dollar or drop of American Blood should be spilled over there. Bush and his kindler gentler war has been a total failure. The worst part is the idiots like McCain and even a lot of Democrats voted for the war. I think we should round up everyone that voted for this war and hang the lot of them as traitors.

This.

I can't think of much that mitigates that shameful ratio. That's beyond appalling.

All aircraft so far have been destroyed on the ground, while armored vehicles have been seized and pushed up towards the Syrian front lines. It seems that ISIS doesn't expect Baghdad to put up nearly the resistance that Damascus has.

Why should anyone feel obliged to support a government they never asked for? The whole "Iraqi Freedom" bullshit was just that. A kinder, gentler puppetmaster is still a stooge. You weren't wanted.

From the thread I posted above

There's a twisted irony in the fact that we overthrew a secular government under the guise of them being linked to Islamic extremists, when now 10 years later actual Islamic extremists are poised to take over the country because of our actions.

The extent of the Iraqi army's defeat at the hands of militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) became clear on Wednesday when officials in Baghdad conceded that insurgents had stripped the main army base in the northern city of Mosul of weapons, released hundreds of prisoners from the city's jails and may have seized up to $480m in banknotes from the city's banks.

Iraqi officials told the Guardian that two divisions of Iraqi soldiers – roughly 30,000 men – simply turned and ran in the face of the assault by an insurgent force of just 800 fighters.

Guardian is reporting that 30,000 Iraqi troops were routed by 800 insurgents.

Of course, a few months ago, Obama refereed to these 800 as junior varsity...

In the 2012 campaign, Obama spoke not only of killing Osama bin Laden; he also said that Al Qaeda had been “decimated.” I pointed out that the flag of Al Qaeda is now flying in Falluja, in Iraq, and among various rebel factions in Syria; Al Qaeda has asserted a presence in parts of Africa, too.

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,”

But Obama can relax, I understand that Iran has already sent a few battalions... Looks like Iran has already got this handled...
