Are men and women equal

There's always a lot of talk about male and female equality, but are both sexes really equal. Personally I beleive that women are just as intelligent and capable as men, but however I also believe that men were naturally created to take the lead. This is not to say that women should never have the right to speak their minds and have equal input within relationships, but again in family situations at least I think the male should usually be the head of the house.

so whats your thoughts on that

Ummmm... no, the sexes are not equal. a simple look at a biology book will demonstrate that to you. The equality you speak of women enjoying with men, is in the arena of rights and worth in the eyes of our Creator - it's not saying that men and women are equal in perceptions or ways of thinking, because that's obviously not the case

This question will lead to generalizing statements and is therefore an unadvisable question to ask.

The right answer is that you shouldn't divide people by gender. When talking about 'intelligence', 'skills' etc., there are only indivuals with each their own strong and weak points.

Be careful with what your questions next time. WW II took the lives of many innocent people due to generalizations.

Men and Women are all equal in Gods's eyes, it is in our eyes that we see inequality. We may have differences, but they are important differences. We are equally important in life. One is not 'more equal' or better than the other. Some individuals are more capable than others, but that transends gender.

I always think of Animal Farm and shudder.

Men and women are equal in many respects. Capability for intelligence. The ability to learn skills, etc.

One thing in which they are not equal is in physical strength. Men can become much stronger than women.

Other than that, I consider them equal.

In many physical attributes, men are above women. In intelligence, there is equality. In driving skills, men win without a competition. In the ability to make sense only to other members of their sex, women win. Everyone understands men, women are a complete mystery however.

As stated before, equality is not based on your sex, more on your abilities and accomplishments. To judge anyone on any other basis is just wrong.

No two people are equal, much less entire sexes. For purposes of things like marriage (or for that matter any relationship)there has to be a leader. It doesn't have to be the man, but more often than not it is because men are generally more agressive. The important thing (remember, this is just all IMO) is that there is one and only one final authority. If neither person takes charge, or if both try to take charge, chaos ensues. A husband and wife can even divide authority; the husband has final say on home maintenance while the wife has final say on child rearing. So I'd say that the sexes are never equal in the absolute sense of the word. But both have the potential to be the master of their domain.
