Don't ever ask this question on a tech forum

Short answer, unless you're an audiophile and care, they effectively perform the same as most generic cables... so no.

I say yes, but only on certain systems. Using monster cables with you $200 cheap-ole Sony surround sound system (that's mine) just doesn't make much sense. I really like them, and think they do make a difference, but I'd never use/buy them unless I had a much better system than my current on. Or a better T.V.

I used to be a Monster dealer. Their QC sucks. We ran with them for about a year and dumped them. The worst cable company on the planet as far as I'm conderned. The Bose of wire.

For higher end cables I recommend:
Straight Wire
MIT
Audiostream
There are a lot of good companies out there. Monster isn't one of them.

Absolutely. You should buy them at full price and make the difference on ebay...

do explain.

What matters is the gauge of the wire. Almost everything else you do the cable will not really matter and if it does it will hardly be noticable. Monster puts "expensive" material on their cables (such as gold plated leads that offer "better" conductivity) to charge 20x the amount just because the one material is there.

Yes, because I heard they use 110% oxygen free copper, plastic incasing approved by NASA, and using twisted and braided wire design to eliminate all types of interference.

Why on earth would you light a humidor?

He's so rich, he just sets the whole humidor of cigars on fire and inhales the smoke.

You could have just said, "I don't know" and saved us all the trouble of having to read that.

Monster Cables are alright if they're maybe a buck or two more than the alternatives and if I really don't feel like spending the next hour bargain shopping for every last penny of savings.
