anti-social != (introverted || Shy)
Exactly. Antisocial behaviour is behaviour against the rules of society. A teenager vandalising a car or a bankrobber are both antisocials.

Being shy, introverted, preferring to be alone, or non-social does not mean antisocial.

He means it in the popular meaning, most people think antisocial means introverted/shy.

I'm a one-man IT department at the company I work for, and I don't know a single person in real life who's even remotely interested in computers. So I don't have very much in common with my coworkers and we really don't interact unless there's a problem. I'm not exactly Wink Martindale anyway, but I'm not particularly anti-social either. I just don't have many people to be social with.

Game show hosts are famously extroverted.

I feel your pain, but I still go out w/ co-workers to happy hour, and hang out w/ friends and family on the weekends drinking beer and talking. It does suck when the only people you can REALLY talk to about your job are via IM.

If you're not anti-social before you start working for IT, you'll probably become anti-social rather quickly. Nothing like having to fix your co-workers computer problems all day to realize how stupid they are

I generally like chilling at home with my family or a few close friends, versus going out after work with people. I NEVER liked going out after work with work people even before my stumbling into the IT world... I see these idiots more than my house, car, wife, kids, etc... why the hell would I want to spend MORE time with them outside of the office?

I'm a very personable person, I like to think I'm fun and entertaining to be around, but I'm not going to go out just for the sake of "going out"

not because i spend all my time on the computer... merely because every time i see someone walking down the street, or in the mall...

"HEY CAN YOU FIX MY COMPUTER???"

Fvck No.

Excuses.

I would say the majority are anti-social.

I am not anti-social, but it does get on my nerves that I am supposed to give everyone I know free computer help. I don't stop a mechanic on the street and ask him to fix my car for me. I don't ask a friend who is a doctor to give me free checkups. It is very rude to do. I don't mind when close friends and reletives ask for help, but when it's everyone you may have talked to for 5 minutes at a club asking you for computer help it gets old.

If the person you are asking for computer help is not a good friend of yours DON'T expect it to be free. I have started telling people I barely know who ask me for help that it will be 25 dollars an hour. That normally stops them from asking in the future.
