Are my case temps too high?

Here is my setup:
Silverstone GD01-MX HTPC case
E6300 w/ XP-120 and 120mm Yate Loon (blowing toward mobo)
2x7600GT's stock coolers
Ultra 500W PSU (120mm fan facing toward the side of the case)

I have two intake fans near the front of the case (in front of the hard drives). There are a total of three exhaust fans (two in the back and one next to the processor). Case temps at load are 47-49C according to speed fan.

I do remember that when I installed the Thermaltake XP-120 on the CPU it took a little force to get the heatsink to actually clamp down. Could I have put too much force on the CPU? I don't think this is the problem because it only crashes when I am playing BF2142 with the case lid on. If I take the case lid off it rarely crashes.

Also of note is the fact that I am running SLI on a Crossfire mobo (Bad Axe). This won't be an issue in a couple of days because I just got a new X1900XTX.

Is it possible that the 500W PSU is not enough juice? I really don't think so, but it is the cheap Ultra PSU that will soon be replaced by a 700W XCLIO Greatpower.

The crashing is getting really annoying and I need to know if I need to change up the layout of my case.

Sounds like a temp problem. Run speedfan and prime95 side by side to see what temps your case reaches under load.

When you say 'crashing', do you mean it's freezing, black screening, performing a spontaneous reboot, or what?!?!?!

That said, I would suspect the PSU, or a bad stick... but that's just a wild *guess*...

Spontaneous reboot is what happens. I have never had it freeze on me and there have been no black screens. It just seems to randomly reboot when I am playing BF2142 (it has also happened when I was playing neverwinter nights 2).

If it is a bad stick of ram what is the best way to test that?

I'm suspecting the PSU because sometimes my SmartPower 2.0 500W would randomly reboot while loading the OS or a game (example: FEAR Combat).

Well I will know if that is the problem tomorrow when I get my 700W XCLIO PSU in. Hopefully that fixes the problem. The Ultra PSU is a budget PSU and the XCLIO is a Greatpower so I shouldn't have any PSU related problems at all.

i know that some of the antec psus have compatibilit issues with some mobos causing random boots and power downs...

Please just clarify this for me,

"Ultra 500W PSU (120mm fan facing toward the side of the case) "

And the case is:

http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-gd01mx.htm

So the 120mm fan is sucking air directly from the side wall of the case? That poor thing is going to get HOT when under load, that's probably exacerbating the problem of an already slightly suspect PSU.

Yes that is the correct PSU and the correct case. However, the 120mm PSU fan seems to be an exhaust and not an intake. The PSU pulls air from the rear (it has a vented back plate) and seems to push air out the side. So basically the PSU is being cooled all by itself. It doesn't seem to get hot at all.

I think the problem might be the way I have some of my fans facing. Also I am pretty sure not all the fans are running at top speed when they need to.

I need to figure out how to use speedfan and also I might get a fan controller so that I can have the fans run at 12V all the time. I can't hear the fans when they are running right now so I think they are only running at around 5V which is just not enough.

Okay I ran Prime95 but it is reporting a hardware error. This really has me concerned.

I am just hoping that it is the PSU and not the memory or the CPU. CPU temp gets up to 52C at load. Is that too high?

I just ran Memtest and there were errors. There were a total of 58 errors. I have G.Skill ram. Are 58 errors within the limits or are any errors a bad thing?

Well I changed my timings on the ram and now it seems like memtest is just fine.

The timings were 4-4-4-12. Default was 5-5-5-15. I just changed the timings back to default and so far no errors on memtest. It would be great if that was the problem.
