Are My temps Good?

I'm running:
2500k cpu
Phanteks PH-TC14PE heatsink - default 2x140mm fans (http://www.phanteks.com/index.php?p=products_3&id=27&cate=1)
Cooler Master Storm Trooper Case - default fan system (2x120mm front intake, 140mm top exhaust, 140mm rear exhaust) (http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=3054).
My setup is reclining chair, hdtv, computer. The computer sits 6 feet away. I barely hear the fans and they run 100% all the time. I run a mild overclock (default auto overclock from my asus p8z68pro gen 3 mobo) and I don't yet have a video card (my 670 is in the middle of an rma).

I ran prime 95 at 8kb setting for 8 hours and here is realtemp recording:

I was considering getting:
2x120mm Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PL-2 case fans for the side intake (http://www.amazon.com/Noiseblocker-N...d=8JEPC40YMI1Y)

1x140mm cpu fan to complete the heatsink setup - (http://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-F1...d=8JEPC40YMI1Y)

My GPU (once rma completed) will be a gigabyte windforce 670. I will also likely overclock more robustly in the future. I don't care terribly about noise being ultra quiet, I just want to make sure the system runs cool for extended life of components.

Would it be overkill to get the additional fans?

What is your vcore? Sometimes, the auto overclock program can raise your vcore too high but seeing as your temperatures are pretty good, it might not be that high.

Vcore is showing 1.296-1.304 on asus suite while running on 100% load.

It is showing 0.992 while at idle at 1648

Is that too much voltage?

So the auto overclock program is using offset mode rather than fixed mode.

While your idle voltages are not bad, your load voltages seem a little high for a 4.3 overclock on sandy bridge. The normal voltage is 1.25 and it seems that a lot of people only need to get raise their voltage above that when they reach 4.5ghz.

Are you able to overclock manually? You could probably use less voltage than what the auto overclock program is giving your processor.

OP, just for reference, I used the Gigabyte OC utility when I first got my 2500K, it pumps up both the BCLK and the voltage... making it generally unstable. I couldn't get it over 3.8GHz without problems. Part of this was because they were taking BCLK to 103-104MHz, but I think it was also from the overvolts.

Once I took over manual control of my OC, as an experiment, I put the BCLK to 103 and it would, generally, instantly crash; so my BCLK is now at a more reasonable 100.3 MHz, and I use the multiplier to govern the OC.... and I don't have any problems (besides heat, but I'm working on that.)

There is tons of information on OC'ing the 2500K, I would nix the autoOC feature and take it over yourself.

Nofi, but what's the point in asking? The auto-overclock function gives way more vcore than needed leading to unrealistic temps but more importantly, you haven't even installed the hottest part of your system yet. Anyway, those temps are nothing to worry about. Also, make sure you use Prime 27.7 with AVX support. And then remember normal use temps will stay well under that.

But I have to ask, how can you 'barely hear' all those fans at 100%? Methinks the noise should be simply unbearable.

I hadn't realized Prime95 had updated (I was using 26.6). Honestly I didn't have the time to thoroughly walk through an overclock manually. I also wasn't aware that an auto overclock would run high on voltage.

I'm trying to do the overclock properly now. I still only need a moderate overclock (around 4.2-4.3), and have read enough now that I think I know how to work the process.

Tiger had my RMA on backorder (gtx 670), but amazon just got more in stock. I cancelled from Tiger and ordered from amazon, saving $20 in the process. I should have it by middle of next week. Then I should be able to get the cpu and gpu to their overclock points and rerun another benchmark on temps. My original concern was to establish a baseline, but had no idea what a 'good' temp would be.

Between a noisy 2 year old, *looks both ways* a noisy wife, and sitting 6 feet away, the fans really don't bother me in the least.
