Are my temps too high?

I have an Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen 3, with an AMD 6750 (flashed to a 6790, but no overclocked), an Asutek watercooler on my CPU, an i5-2500K (not overclocked), and some 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL (not over-anythinged). I have a Corsair Carbide 400R, with 2 120mm intakes in front of drives, 2 120mm intakes on side blowing on CPU and GPU, and the 2 outtakes in the back, from the PSU and the watercooler. I also have a 120mm on top for exhaust)

I live in South Maine, it's hot as a goat, and my room AC keeps the room at 78 degrees. My ambient temps are 35-36 for the CPU, and the GPU is set with MSI afterburner, and is at 51 degrees idle. It was 47 degrees in the winter.

1. should I be worried?

2. on the 9th, an AMD 7950 shows up. It does run hotter.

You mean idle temps? 35-36C idle for the CPU is more than fine.

51C idle for the GPU is a bit high, it should be closer to 40. Maybe it's not going to idle clocks and voltages properly due to being flashed. Check with MSI Afterburner.

Also, generally idle temps are nothing to worry about, it's the load temps that really matter. What load temps are you getting with the CPU at 100% in Prime95, or the GPU 100% in a game (no vsync ofc)?

LehTV is right, your load temps are the most important. CPU idle looks normal. The 51C GPU idle seems a little high, although it would be helpful to know what card you use (on my phone, so I don't see signatures).

Prime95 your CPU for 30 minutes or until you start approaching your max safe temp. Then download Uningine Heaven/Valley benchmarks (Heaven seems to produce higher temps), enable the MSI Afterburner GPU temp 1 overlay, run the benchmarks at max with no V-sync (assuming you have a DX 11 card here), and take note of your load temps during the test. Most GPUs are fine up until around 90-100C, but I'd be a little uncomfortable being over 80C for any extended period of time. As always, stop the tests if temps start getting higher than you're comfortable with.

Really? Sorry I mis-capitalized your name, but it seems a bit petty to make an issue out of it in a thread aimed at helping someone with an entirely unrelated problem.
