Are people still liking the Ford Focus?

My girlfriend needs a car and I'm graduating and starting work after the summer so I'm thinking of selling her my old car and getting a new car. I'm thinking moving down to the compact size for commuting. I'm still very interested in optioning up a 2013 Focus, but I haven't seen any threads on the Focus these days after the initial hubbub over the model revamp two years ago. Do we still like these? It was the forerunner for me when I was looking two years ago.

It was revamped in 2004. People knew it would be a lot better; it's not like everyone was all wooded up over it and then 'oh no first year, everything is broken.' Ford just decided the US would be late as hell to the party.

It's just...yep...good car. Yep, turbos make compacts faster. If you want it then you oughta put a keyring on it.

Own a 2012 Focus Titanium - Almost 23K miles in 15-months of ownership.

If you want a compact hatchback:
Focus or Impreza or Elantra GT

Many more good choices in sedans including the Cruze, Sentra & Dart.

Focus is the most sporty best handling by far with the most HP - you sacrifice some interior room to the others. Also the best technology is in the Focus if you opt for My Ford Touch system.

If you get a Focus - get a Titanium. Test drive the competition and decide for yourself. Its a C&D 10-best winner 2yrs in a row and wins every comparison test.

This. The Cruze is a fine car, but it doesn't have any personality. The Focus wants to be driven.

Not much love for the Mazda3 anymore, huh? Is it just because of the happy face grill? The 2014's should be hitting showrooms this fall. Wonder how nice it will be inside.

The Focus is not bad. I think most complaints are the touchscreen/sync system. Driveline I have not seen any major problems.

I would also test drive the Cruze and the Elantra.

I'm 5'7 165 lbs and I found it cramped. Came with great gadgets and I could get 38-40mpg easy highway.

I'd actually prefer a Mazda 4 or civic as it feels more airy inside.

I love my 2012 Focus, the options available are really great. Backup camera is a must and the upgraded sound system is good too. SYNC always seems to hate my Galaxy SII but now that I have the HTC One it works seemlessly. Like walk in the car, shit is sync'd and it starts playing the last song and I'm all smiles.

I didn't quite like the Cruze as much when I test drove it last time. I'll go through the motions and test drive the Cruze and Elantra again. Right now I'm just getting my car over to the mechanic to get it fixed up for sale and then I'll have to get over my bank to see how their auto loans are. I'll hit up the dealerships later this month and make the purchase, if any, at the end of the month.

It's alright. However, it handles too much like the second gen it replaced. Not that it's a bad thing but it's basically the same car with a different body IMO. I felt they could have tweaked it be a little less heavy feeling.
