I got into an arguement with a guy I know who happens to be a total douche bag, side the point it was about temperatures. He believes that a black car and a white car sitting in the sun on a hot day will be just as warm. I asked him what about a black and white t-shirt and his logic was that because a t-shirt moves and paint doesn't, the paint doesn't get hot and the shirt does.

And to add to this, there was another idiot aside of him, a friend was looking up a bmw 3 series car, I said that every person I've ever seen driving one was an a-hole, the idiot said, "you're a ****** idiot". Then he goes on saying that asians are terrible drivers and shouldn't have the right to drive or something along the lines of that.. :roll:

I brought a black car after having a silver and a white one and it isn't that different. I think the key is that the inside is light gray. If it was black it would really roast. Sure, it's probably a bit hotter than another model but no huge deal.

For the most part, your friend was right. Exterior color makes very little difference in how hot the interior of a car gets on a hot day. The difference is less than 10 degrees. Not much help when both cars reach over 140 degrees on a hot day.

Darker cars heat up a little faster, but both cars will be nearly the same temp after a while. Both will be too hot.
