I've always preferred pleated pants. They look better on me. They accentuate a narrow waist and broad shoulders and give more room for people who don't have undeveloped teenie bopper chicken legs.

As I pointed out in another one of these threads, gay men are the most fashion conscience people in the world. If you're so worried about fashion, what does that make you?

At any rate, when you grow up, you realize you wear what looks good, not what the teenie bopper geeks wear to school.

You must have gotten these pleated slacks from Gucci, cuz mine never do that. Either that or they haven't came out of the closet yet.
Yeah right. I bet you are the type who hasn't realized that going Commando while wearing Slacks is not only Gay, but Aromatically Nasty!!!

looks down at the suit I'm wearing today, just like I do every monday-friday.

Yep - pleated. Once you grow up you'll learn to dress better. Look at any real mens fashion and you'll probably see pleats. Real men's fasion being your actually out of your 20s and learned how to look good.

Um, no. If you get pleated pants that fit, they do not make your ass look big.

if you want to look good->no cuffs, no pleats.

Please... you are the guy that posted the link to Gucci. Go to your link and then click "Enter". Now look at that first pic that pops up... is that your definition of "looking good"?

You misunderstand me. I mean YOUR ASS. Amused's ass looks big in his pleated pants.

Meh, that's your opinion. What do you consider mens fashion? Just about every place I know has both pleated and flat. It all comes down to preference in the end, and I think that flat fronts are MUCH cleaner looking.

Flat fronts generally don't look good on the horizontally challenged of course.

You, sir, are mistaken. I, like most white men, have no ass. You can't make something that doesn't exist look big.

I agree. I've got a slim build and wear pleated pants quite a bit. They have a more professional look IMO than the regular old flat fronts. If I'm just going to be in my office all day or want to exude that cutting edge 'Nick Burns Company Computer Guy' look then flat fronts fit the bill perfectly. But if I'm going into a client meeting and it's not a 'suit' meeting pleats usually look nicer than flats in most cases.

The person wearing them

I agree. Being gay (in the lifestyle sense) is a state of mind. Take a walk through West Hollywood on a Saturday night, and this will become quickly apparent. It's not the clothes, per se, but the attitudes and the postures of the people wearing them.

60% of my pants are pleated, 50% having cuffs. I'm only 19.... so I'm not old. I'm not gay either, as far as I know. They just seem more professional and fancier than plain old flat front pants.

But really, does it even matter?

You can continue to wear pleated pants if you think they look good, but they don't unless you have a weird body. If you are in shape and not old buy flat-front.

I'm in shape. 6', 31" waist, 46" chest. Flat front pants look bad on me because I don't have undeveloped chicken legs. If I buy a pair that fits my waist, the legs are too tight. And "easy fit" flat front pants have a saggy ass in them.

I don't know anyone who's gay, and yet everyone i know who wears dress pants, wears pleated dress pants, both casually and to work. Black Dockers Classic look great - i compared them side-by-side to all 4 Banana Republic styles, and they look better. In fact, i never anything BUT pleated Dockers pants. Why? Because the first time i wore them (30 dollar pants versus 150-dollar Diesel jeans), i realized that the amount of looks i get from girls went up by about 300%, and got to the point where about 3/4 of the gorgeous girls i check out are checking me out in return.
