Windows phone is quirky and niche, Apple is simply the best, HTC and Motorola make compelling well-crafted products.

And Samsung phones feel cheap and plasticky, they probably have the worst implementation of Android, are loaded with annoying bloatware, and are expensive, as expensive as Apple while delivering an inferior Android experience compared to HTC or Motorola.

You really thought this was an acceptable thread? Please stop trolling.

You have some points, but my personal experience with Samsung phones has been that they age well, are easy to fix, tend to have top-notch hardware and good battery life, receive updates longer on average than other manufacturers' devices (except for Nexus phones), are easy to root or unlock, have replaceable batteries and room for sdcards, have good cameras, have smaller bezels and are lighter than the competition's phones (plastic backs don't matter if you're going to put it in a case).

I am currently using a Motorola phone, and have used Apple, HTC and Samsung products in the past.

And Apples executives have stated that Apple isn't making the products people want -- simply the best huh?

Obvious troll post is obvious!

I had a tough decision whether to go with the HTC one or the S4 last year. I chose Samsung simply because of its removable battery and for the SD storage capabilities.

Not to mention, I heard the camera on the S4 is better than the one in the HTC one.

Trolling much, OP?

I quite like my dad's Samsung GS2 and he's happy with it too. I would have gone with a GS3 if my friends hadn't convinced me that the Nexus 5 was a better deal for the price.

From what I've seen, Samsung make decent phones.

I've always been more of an "if you can't say something nice, say nothing" kind of person...

My impression of Samsung smartphones:

I appreciate Samsung's hardware designs:

-I like the SD card slot
-I like SAMOLED screens
-I like a removable battery
-I like that they are made out of durable plastic rather than aluminum that dents when I drop it

The only thing I don't like is Touchwiz, but that is fixed if the S5 also gets a Google Play Edition.

So overall not bad.

I've spent a grand total of $227 on my android phone in the last 6 months, including tax, several apps, AND the cost of the phone itself. After a year, my total out of pocket cost for everything will be right around $300, again including the cost of the phone. There is no way in hell that any apple user can claim to get anywhere near as much utility out of $300. Even if the "apple experience" was better, there is no way to justify paying $1500 or even $2000 a year for it like some of these yuppies do. But I would argue that there is no real difference. When an android app crashes, it usually tells you

On an ipoop device, it usually doesnt tell you. But they both crash. Neither OS is more stable or secure than the other. All I know is that I can have a near premium android device for under $300 a year out of pocket, including a phone, or I could pay twice as much for an outdated underpowered apple device, or 4 times as much for the newest apple device. It's just not worth it. There is nothing the new hardware can do that can possibly justify the additional cost.

I tried to think of something witty... but I just bought a Galaxy Note 3, so apparently that's beyond my intelligence level. Now I have an excuse to point to.

Honestly, there's no other phone I'd rather have as my daily user than my current Note 3. I am running the S-view case which has a thicker back cover which may help with 'feel', but it feels good, is practically all screen, has great battery life, never sweats anything I throw at it, and with 32GB internal + 64GB mSD it has good enough storage (though I am seriously contemplating the 128GB mSD).

I never really get the strong feelings toward bloatware - most of the gimmicky stuff can be disabled in about 30 seconds when you first buy the phone, and most apps you don't use can be completely disabled. I run Nova as I don't like any stock launcher, but I get that it's preference.

Using an iPhone to do more than email or text makes me want to bash my head against a wall...repeatedly...hard. I do think HTC, Motorola, and LG have some great phones as well, though without the LG G Pro 2 being available from any US carrier, there's really no competition to the Note 3.
