Are there any Diablo clones out there besides Torchlight series, or Path of Exile?

Don't really have the time to raid in MMO's anymore, looking for something with spawns I can kill for an hour or two, with truly randomized loot, so I can come back to town and barter with others.

I have played TL and PoE, and was hoping there was some new FOTM type game out there to sink a few hours into.

Yeah I've played about 15-20 hours of grim dawn, it was entertaining.

I tried sacred 2, and wouldnt say that I hated it, but I could not really get into it. Quit after a few hours and never played it again. May try it again at some point though.

Back on topic, Titan Quest and Titan Quest Immortal throne are very good Hack and Slash RPG games. I would strongly recommend them. And I have to say, I enjoy Diablo 3 a lot now after they got rid of the Auction House. Much better loot. The new adventure mode sounds like it would be what you are looking for, basically go to an area and clear it or battle a monster. Can usually finish an area in less than an hour.

haven't played them yet, but there are 2 "Adventures of Van Helsing" games which are ARPGs. there is also "Kingdoms of Amalur" hack'n'slasher which is great.

Agreed. I finished it a month ago. 97 hours in it. And I'm missing it already. It IS a complex game and took me a few hours to understand how everything works.

And I finished the main storyline without exploring 50% of the world or doing 50% of the side quests!

Titan quest is a great game. I think in some ways its better than diablo 3. I really like the two class experience especially at higher levels. The story line is solid enough and its replayable. There are a few programs you can use to manipulate drop rates to get some neat gear (after legitimate play of course).

I've seen it on steam for $10. I've seen it on Fry's shelves as recently as last year for $5.99.

Reason one, Blizzards money grab with the auction house making it pay to win. They have fixed it and its getting close to the game it should have been. The Dumbing down of the skill system also taints it. I do understand balance was almost impossible in D2 with the skill system, but that is what made that game great. D3 is right now quite good, but it wasn't when released.

I actually like the ah because I didn't have to grind as much for upgrades... getting gold is easy through normal play. You seem to think the AH was just for real money, most of its use came from just selling with gold.

However in turn, the drops you got were junk, so the new 2.0 loot is much better. However I guess if you spent as much time in it as an mmo, you can use the tradeskills and grind and you will get your gear.

Glad to see others enjoyed sacred 2 as much as I did. I play it a bit every 8 months or so. Anyways we all know sacred 3 was crap and done by another studio but the guys who did sacred 2 are working on another game not in the sacred universe but with the sacred ideas (no respec, hard, large open world).

I played D3 extensively, when I went back, I saw all loot was bind on pickup. Part of what makes these games fun for me is trading with other players and buying/selling. Ruined D3 real quick for me.

Shadows: Heretics Kingdoms is a pretty good and interesting take on the genre. Also I recommend both Sacred 1 & 2 along with Titan Quest (with Exp) & Grim Dawn as they are all good games.

Is grim dawn finished yet? I backed it and played a couple hours but havent been back to it as I wanted it to get fleshed out.
