Like I said. Costco paints a very pretty picture of itself and the people who like to buy ketchup by the gallon will defend them till the end.

costco must have killed his puppy when he was growing up...

i think you are the first person I know who has an issue with them...here, it is fashionable to hate Monster, Walmart, Sony and Apple, but not necessarily in that order...

Im not fashionable. Im honest.

Can you at least provide some deals about your experience w/ them?

ill give you my reasons. seems like every time i go there, it is the dregs of society day. the people are fucking rude, pushy and demanding, and the customers are the same way. srsly tho, the employees are usually pretty nice, its the clientele that seems to really suck. i thought that was just the area i was in, but its held true in most walmarts ive been in. i was hit with a grocery cart because i didnt move out of the way fast enough. they were behind me and didnt ask me to move, i didnt know they were even there. and i wasnt even in the middle of the aisle, i was off to the side. ive been almost mugged in their parking lots, every time i went there i was bothered by bums asking me for "gas money". its just not worth it to me to go to a store that causes me so much ill will.

In my experience, going to home depot means being involved a traffic jam to get there, spending gobs of time wandering around the ridiculously sprawled out and cavernous store trying to find what you need, trying to track down empolyees to get shit down from the 30 foot shelves, waiting on long checkout lines (though they've remedied this a little bit with the self checkout) and finally, being involved in another traffic jam on the way out. It's insane.

You know how lumberyards used to work?

You would just drive your truck right into the yard and start loading your wood. Within 5 minutes of your arrival a yard guy would show up and ask you if you needed a hand. If not, he would ask you what else you needed and he would go get it for you. After you had everything, he would write you a ticket and charge your account. DONE. 20-25 minutes tops.

You can't get out of Home Depot in under an hour, usually more like 1:20. I just can't believe people tolerate it.

i went to home depot today on my lunch break after i got lunch, to pick up a pack of springs.

i was out of there in about 3 minutes.

Wait, at costco?

You seem to be describing Walmart.

Costco is not affiliated with Walmart in any way, if anything they are a direct competitor of Walmart, because Walmart owns Sam's Club.

Except BH PhotoVideo, just about every "camera" store located anywhere in New York or New Jersey.

Give Adorama a try... they seem legit and have better prices than B&H.

That's funny. I just ordered a 58mm B&W multi-coated UV lens from them! I've actually used a couple of different vendors. It's just funny how many scam / bait-and-switch companies there are from NY/NJ for the camera industry. I know there are a few good ones

I really dislike Home Depot, but not enough to boycott them yet. For as huge as the store is, it seems they never have what I'm looking for. Home Depot is the closest hardware store, so many times I'll go to them first. I end up leaving defeated, then drive to a small independent and find exactly what I need. About half the time I go out of my way to shop at a independent, but I'm slowly bumping that percentage up. I pay a little more with private shops, but the experience is much less aggravating.

Like others not based on any principal but I have yet to and don't think I ever will buy anything in any trendy higher end clothing store. When it comes to cloths I buy the cheapest I can get.

No stores in particular, but there are companies that will never get my money. American Greetings for the nonsense they pulled with Penny Arcade a few years back and Sony for suing Lik-Sang into oblivion under the guise of protecting consumers. Screw the both of them.

Cold Stone Creamery, because every time we eat there we get sick. At least the one near us.

Jewelry stores that always have things on sale for Ninety Percent Off!!!! How does that work?? Then again, I don't buy much in the jewelry line - walmart covers my personal jewelry needs.

Apple and Best Buy.

Just don't care for their image. Got nothing against the companies themselves or the people who wear their shit, I just don't want to be one of "them".

Edit:

Found this after I posted.

Fuck you, I'm not paying $25 or whatever it is for a t-shirt with some big-ass annoying text on the front. I could go to Kohl's and get the same shit for half the money, and still look decent.

We should be friends. I shop at American Eagle cause their XS actually fits me though. I still refuse to buy anything where the label is hueg/too obvious.

Lol, seriously? Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but it struck me as funny for some reason.

KT

jiffy lube bored out the drain plug to the back differential case of our Bronco to change the fluid. They put back in one in that didn't fully fit.. It came out..

Casey's gas stations. I'm still bitter about them gouging gas prices on 9/11.

When Old Navy used to run their old ads with the ugly old woman with the stupid glasses every 3 minutes I refused to buy their clothes. Now that they have cut back on the commercials that are brutally painful to watch I've started buying again.

There's a number of stores I'll never shop at because of cost, but not because of any emotional/political reasons. These include places like A&F, Banana Republic, ect.

The Gap and Old Navy because of their stupid commercials. I try to avoid Walmart, but sometimes they're the best option.

Based on what I remember, you wouldn't be able to buy gas anywhere in Indiana anymore. :Q

My regular Tuesday ritual during college included a trip to the Handy Andy to get $.99 Noble Roman's breadsticks. That didn't change on 9/11, but there was a hell of a line to get into the gas station parking lot. I think I had to park across the street.

Any shirt with a huge fucking logo on it.

Starbucks
Winn Dixie. The one close to me is horrible.
I avoid Best Buy if I can.

Starbucks. However, I always seem to collect about 50 bucks worth of Starbucks gift cards around Christmas. I don't want to sell them, so I just enjoy the free lattes. I can't handle the way they brew regular ol' coffee. Too much acidic aftertaste. Heck, McDonalds has better coffee these days.

Abercrombie.
Hollister.

Oh and Costco. I swear this thread is going to make me shop there more. Only a couple douchebags would think a store provides some sort of commentary on how society is spend and consume in a big way.
I find quite the opposite in how I shop there, along with how my family and friends shop there.
I typically buy stuff there and use unitl the last drop. They are also excellent with hardcover new releases. I actually got back into reading on a regular basis thanks to Costco and Amazon.

i would rather not go to walmart, but its all we really have in rock springs, also, not a big fan of best buy. I like to go to local owned businesses when i can.
