Are these CPU temps normal for a gaming laptop?

So I recently purchased a Dell G3 15 gaming laptop back in December, and it's been serving me well. I know gaming laptops generally get hotter under load than your average desktop, but on certain games, namely GTA V, RDR2, Skyrim: SE, Mordhau, etc, I'm seeing the CPU regularly reach into the 90C-100C range. The GPU (GTX 1660Ti) never gets close to that, maxing out at around 75C on max load. I bought a cheap cooling pad off of Amazon which helps a little, but it's not preventing these high temps from occuring. The only thing that's worked so far is opening my bedroom window at night and turning the ceiling fan on full blast.

Is this normal or sustainable in the long run? I know the CPU and the GPU share the main heat pipe, so maybe that's the reason, but I'm hesitant to play really demanding games for long periods of time because I worry about the long term effect it may be having on my CPU's lifespan.

I would not be comfortable with an intel CPU on a laptop that was reaching more than 80 celsius degrees myself.

I would inquire as to an exchange or I would get a refund and look through reviews on laptops with similar specs and pay attention to what the reviewers observe the laptop temperatures under load while gaming.

I think it might be a poor thermal paste job when it was manufactured, but it's still too early in the warranty for me to open it up and reapply the paste. I might try to get a better cooling pad with some AC features in it as well.

As I said it is too high for me to be comfortable with... it's within the specified temperature limits but just barely.

imho you should exchange it or get a refund for it and get another model that is similarly priced with similar specs.

I urge you to do so.

Eh, I've already had it for four months or so. I want to stick with what I've purchased. At the very least, I might try undervolting a bit and see if that works.

Dell should have a very good warranty situation...
if you want to keep the same model check laptop specific forums to see if this temperature thing is common with the model and if it is not I'd suggest asking for an exchange.
