I was reading some different cures for tendonitis and I read about some that are supposed to help. Should it be safe to take all these together?

Fish Oil Pills
Vitamin B Complex
glucosamine chondroitin with msm

Will I be fine to take these? I know you guys aren't Dr's but maybe you have some experience.

Yeah, you should be okay - although you should know that the research on glucosamine/chondroitin and joint health is a bit sketchy, as it is on many supplements - that largely overpromise and underdeliver.

Probably. Any supplementation is at beast an ancillary approach to solving your tendon problem. You need rest and/or appropriate active recovery. No supplement in the world has ever soley solved a significant tendon issue. You need to strengthen the joint and other stabilizing muscles and decrease or cease the offending activity until you're better.

Well I've been to the Dr. and Chiro multiple times and they haven't really helped me at all. So I'm trying to find me own methods.

The tendonitis is in my thumb/wrist. Any suggestions on exercises?

Not surprising. I got very little help with my tendinosis at doctors. I've basically had to fix it myself. I'm not familiar with your particular tendinitis. I assume there are message boards specifically catering to wrist tendinitis who can help you. Surgery certainly ought to be a last resort. I can say if you're playing a lot of computer games (computer or console) they can definitely be exacerbating influences--they were for me. I used to have bad wrist pain and when I stopped gaming and became very cognizant of wrist position while at the computer it went away. That's been years now. It was pretty bad for a while but now is perfect.

go to a chiro who specializes in sports injuries or go to a pt. most chiros and medical doctors wouldn't know what to do with tendonitis.

want to know the easy secret to treating tendonitis? stripping the muscles, ice massage muscles, ultrasound the muscles, and resting the muscles. tendonitis is an overuse injury. you need to drive out the inflammation and stop the cause of the inflammation. then you need to figure out why it gets inflamed, if it's a chronic thing, and fix it.

Well it originally started happening from playing computer games. I have quit playing completly. It sucks.

Recently it flared up again by playing Nintendo DS. Another thing I have to scratch of the list.

I will have to check out a pysical therapist.

something in your biomechanics is off. you need to be retrained. some muscle tensions are off and you need to correct it. it shouldn't be happening.

Yeah, go to a PT. I think you have to go to the doctor first, get a prescription, and then make an appointment with a physical therapist. There are a fair amount of hand specialists too. They'll fix you right up.

As he said, if you're still inflamed, cessation of activity is the best way to get this fixed, then when you return to activity try and do it "better". However, if you're finding that it becomes completely asymptomatic and when you return to activity it flares up fairly fast it could be more chronic and rest alone will not solve it. That is the case for tendinosis but I haven't heard of it for wrists, though I've never looked. I'm sure it's possible.

The main thing your wrist needs is to be straight. you should be able to draw a straight line from your forearm to where your fingers attach.

Also would it be smart to still take my Multivitamin so I don't have a surplus of B and low on everything else?

Or if I take the multi will I have way too much B(since there is B in the mv)?

apparently Vitamin B complex vitamins are water-soluble. But you can overdose on it causing kidney stones (according to wikipedia)

a) You can take those supplements together safely.

b) Your problem isn't something that physicans are really meant to treat. Go see a physical therapist or something similar to that.
