It's funny how you're insulting me when youself is the clueless one

There's nothing complicated about sinusoidal waveform with an operating frequency of 60Hz.

What makes you think it's sinusoidal? Me thinks you have zero experience outside of text books. Computer load has a current form like this(a gross approximation, real thing doesn't precisely follow that shape)
http://www.upitall.com/Public/...606ecmINSIDEPQfigB.jpg

Watt = integral of product of voltage and current waveform.
VA = Vrms * Irms
PF = Watt/VA

Any first quarter Calculus student can find the area under this curve as a function of time.
Given two waveforms on the same graph, you can multiply the two curves together and integrate it on paper, but doing this to electrical signals in real time takes a special instrument.

Do you think there is any market for a digital power analyzer if you could do it with a multimeter? You're just a kid who thinks multimeter is everything you'll ever need for all electrical measurements.

Add phase-shift and voila... Unless you live on Fantasy Island, you'll never have to worry about paying a price premium on electricity with a 0.7PF PSU.

You can only calculate PF using cos phi if it's a displacement power factor, like ideal capacitor and ideal inductor. Even if that was the case, you still need to be able to precisely resolve the phase difference between V * I, not something you can do with a DMM.

Did you read the paper I linked you? Yokogawa makes among the best AC power analyzer. They know what they are talking about even though the paper maybe beyond your comprehension.

Know the difference between sinusoidal and pure sine wave? You use a "GROSS APPROXIMATION" to pump your mindless rambling. If you lack the knowledge to integrate the area under this graph, then buy a more expensive scope. Not my problem. Go sell your snake oil to other neophytes.

Again, visit the local high school lab if you want to get smart about the real world.
