The reference Sapphire 5700XT I preordered was the worst experience I have ever had with ATI/AMD. On both the hardware and software level. Hardware accelerated playback was broken. It was hot and loud OOB due to the blower design. Had a super bad hitching issue in Fallout 4. Then locked itself to 800MHz core and couldn't be changed. Instability ensued. Sent it back, and I have never owned a RDNA card again.
Not long ago I posted a hot deal for the Gigabyte Eagle 6650XT for $265. Haven't seen anything NIB since with better mainstream bang for buck. I saw a RTX 3050 for $275 yesterday. IMO it's already overpriced at $250 MSRP. It is aging like warm milk. Ray tracing is inconsequential in the price tier, and that is the only thing it does worthwhile. People can link a 100 side by side analysis of why DLSS is better than FSR. It is all marketing to me. I mess around with both, and when playing the games, both do the job. I don't catch myself thinking how it looked better with DLSS. Less shimmer maybe? if I look for it, but I don't. If it is obtrusive I make a mental note. Both have done that, so it's a tie.
AMD is bang for buck champ right now. 500$ and up buyers comprise a small percentage of gamers. That is where the Nvidia tax might be worth it. ARC is a curiosity right now, we will see if it starts to factor in when you can readily buy one and have it be a decent OOB experience.
