@dvsv

So uh, you take issue with the possibility of 144 fps @ 4k? Something you wanna say?

(yeah I noticed the downvote which makes no sense)

I have also received downvotes recently. It has shaken me emotionally and I've been forced to evaluate my life choices. Be strong. You'll get through this.
But yeah, of course 4K 144hz is the holy grail for a lot of people out there. They game on really nice OLED TVs or 4K monitors and they are looking for a GPU to drive those panels as easily as existing cards drive 1440p. It's going to cost them because of course, GPU prices are about to skyrocket UP again with the 4000 series.

I mean if he thinks a 4090 can't hit 4k 144 fps/144 Mhz then he can post and say so. He might even be right on modern titles. But no joke, a random downvote is just dumb. It doesn't really help the forum at all.

Curious question regarding typing that out consistently so. Is there a chance that a game may hit 144 fps but may not hit 144 MHz refresh rate? I mean, fps and refresh rate are interchangeable, are they not?

You gotta lay out the $$$ for a monitor that can both do 144 MHz refresh. Otherwise, you CAN still hit 144 fps, but obviously you won't really see the difference. It's a bit pedantic for me to point that out, I suppose, but still. It's going to take some better dGPUs and some amazing monitors to achieve that goal.

Not pedantic, but valid point. Obviously not all understand this.

Just picked up a 6700XT on AMD.com. I really wanted a 6800 or 6800XT but my place in the queue was too far back and they were all sold out by the time I got in. The 6700XT will still be a massive step up from my 1650 Super!

-Yeah I'm seeing around the web that the 6700Xt's are starting to sit in the AMD queue for an actually achievable amount of time for a human. Looks like the bots might be backing off slowly but surely.

What did you pay though... remember $479 is the theoretical MSRP.

LOL YOU DOWNVOTED THIS TOO

You are so passive aggressive.

Cmon, post something! Tell us how you feel about video card prices, or something! Should be great! The downvote isn't bothersome, but we can always use more contributors to an actual conversation. Instead of, you know, people pushing the "I hate u" button.

Maybe check his posting history to see what he upvoted and then post something similar? Possible he has some condition preventing him from posting? He hasn't posted since 2017

Coincidentally, 2017 is also the year of the last good GPU generation when prices made sense for what you get. Perhaps acute trauma from the subsequent releases is the reason for the silence. Or perhaps he has followed popular advice to never utter a word about a subject unless you are an expert on it. Don't have experience engineering GPUs and ALSO don't have a degree in economics? Such a person should only ever be seen and not heard.

Just some speculation...

$1999+: AD102 vs RDNA3 Chiplet
$1299+: AD103 vs RDNA3 monolithic
$999+: AD104 vs Navi 21 Refresh
$699+: AD106 vs Navi 22 Refresh
$399+: AD107 vs Navi 23 Refresh

As long as both performance/$ and performance/watt increase, I'm all onboard. (With baseline being RTX 3080/RX6800 and their MSRP)

With this price speculation, that's (performance/$) obviously not happening.

A constant 144fps at 4K is hard to achieve on any hardware, and tends to be limited by single threaded CPU performance. I suspect a 4090 will sometimes dip below that except in older games. It could probably do RT natively in games where a 3090 needs scaling.

N22 is going to be used for X600 SKUs when RDNA3 releases, N23 will be used for X500 SKUs when RDNA3 releases.

For 7500 XT, with RX 6600 XT performance I'd say we can expect at best 249$ MSRP

I buy my video cards based on actual prices, not wild speculations. The same reason I’m not running a RTX 3080 atm :/

Seems a little pricey for N21 Refresh... I was thinking something closer to the following... Note: I only put like 5 min of thought into this so cut me some slack lol
NVIDIAAMDPriceRaster Performance
7950XT (Full N31)$2499>2x RTX 3090/6900XT
RTX 4090 (Full AD102)7900XT (Cut down N31)$1999~2x RTX 3090/6900XT
RTX 4080 (Cut down AD102)7800XT (N32)$1299~1.6x RTX 3090/6900XT
RTX 4070 (AD103)7800 (Cut down N32)$899~1.2x RTX 3090/6900XT

Will they cut the PCIe on the 7500XT to x4 or actually learn from their mistakes?
