Waiting to replace my RX580 so that I can support Dual Monitors over DVI (240hz + secondary monitor (max at 165hz, but i dont really care since its not for gaming, just have it.)
It was my mistake, i edited to DP. Both monitors connected via DP.Hate to break it to you, but there aren't any new cards with DVI ports. DP and HDMI is the name of the game.
There are DisplayPort to Active Dual Link DVI adapters.

Ahh ok.
Out of curiosity, why di you need both displays up at 240Hz? I keep both of my displays at low refresh rate unless I am playing a game that benefits from the higher refresh rate. Running them at higher refresh rates will result in not only the displays using more power, but your GPU will use significantly more because it won't be able to stay in zero state.

What does turn on/off HDR do for refresh rates? This may be related to my issueMaybe my Dell monitor could do this, but I really wish when I wasn't running a game, it would drop the refresh rate so my card could settle down. I hate constantly turning HDR off and on and I don't want to keep changing my refresh rate too, and it absolutely impacts my memory clocks on the GPU.

I have an Alienware 27in (240hz) as my main, but a Dell 27in (165hz) as my secondary, don't ask, i got one after the other on sale.
I just want my main Alienware to run at 240hz when i have my Dell 27 connected. When both are connected, both drop down to 144hz. When I turn off the Dell 27in, the Alienware jumps up to 240hz.
odd things. What does turn on/off HDR do for refresh rates? This may be related to my issue
thanks, just tried changing my secondary (Dell) monitor to 60hz in windows:Try setting the Dell to 60Hz, and then set the Alienware to a higher refresh.

Suggests avoid 3090, rtx3080ti, and rtx3080-10gb.
Hardware unboxed speculated the price would be the same for both the 10 GB and 12 GB versionI'm rather torn on the idea of ignoring the 3080 10GB. To be fair, my hesitance mostly comes from its MSRP being $700 compared to the 12GB model's $800. Of course, you can find plenty of instances of AIB cards being well above the $700 value. I believe when I looked at the ASUS x Noctua 3080 on Newegg, it was somewhere between $900 and $1000.
9% more performance & 2GB more VRAM seems considerable:However, if you can get your hands on an elusive Founder's Edition 3080, then I'd likely just go that route since the 3080 10GB and 12GB variants don't differ much in performance.

the 12GB also outperforms the Ti:

OK so Congress just approved over 200 billion dollar bailouts for the chip industry courtesy of we tax payers. Lets see how greedy they get over the next 2 years.
Bonuses for the CEO's again?OK so Congress just approved over 200 billion dollar bailouts for the chip industry courtesy of we tax payers. Lets see how greedy they get over the next 2 years.
Of course. This has nothing to do with management, technological advances, etc. This has everything with top level executives wheeling & dealing with the right people in government. A pure CEO & top level play.Bonuses for the CEO's again?
Don't forget stock buy backs and offshoring of jobs. All this talk of job creation is bs too. Fabs are highly automated, so most of the jobs will be temporary during construction. No strings attached.Bonuses for the CEO's again?
I am ok with that.Probably won't affect NV or AMD positively one bit.
