But you get ray tracing with the 3050 and not with the 1660! (That's what nVidia would tell you I'm sure)
EVGA 2060 is $229.99 https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-2060-KRRTX 3050 for $350??? Are they joking?
It almost made sense, when a brand-new 1660 Super was also $350, but you can get a 1660 ti for $229 @ Newegg right now. Why isn't the price of the 3050 following suite?
And what's with the GTX 1630? Those finally showed up too.

That's they way to go if someone only buys Nvidia and needs a cheap GPU that supports RT. RTX 3050 is the choice of the ignorant. AMD is the current choice of the savvy GPU shopper.
DLSS 2 is worth $121, apparently.
I took a quick look and can see the reason we can't have nice things. The way AMD has mindshare in CPU sales now, Nvidia has even more in GPU sales. Only a couple of AMD cards in the top 20 on Newegg or Amazon U.S.Can also get a 2060 for $238 at Amazon or newegg. Don't know why anyone would pick 3050 over a cheaper and 15% faster 2060 thats also new in box.
I am, to my wallet.Seems some little birdie has been going around and whispering into ears, "Keep HODLing!".
Newest NV driver gets rid of LHR?
4090 would make a bling ring.Yea I'll try but it's not a huge priority right now. Need to buy an engagement ring soon which I don't want to have my credit line affected if I can't pay for it via ACH online and need to do financing with the jewelery site.
Probably a good idea to try and get one after I order the ring.
A. It's pretty pointless now, as it was specific to Ethereum mining, so this only helps Ethereum ClassicInteresting. One wonders if they're trying to get the miners to buy more.

On Amazon, the Zotac 3050 for $300 is #5. SMDH. No way Nvidia is ever going to change tactics with suckers lining up to buy heavily overpriced cards. There is a 1050ti for $187 ranked higher than the RX6600, it hurts my brain.
This is just my guess, but as with any notable brand there's an aspect of social proof that comes with owning products from said brand. For the same reason why Apple iPhone users look down on people who have Android phones (e.g. blue vs green chat bubbles), there's probably something about owning an Nvidia GPU that makes people feel superior than those with an AMD GPU. This feeling is tied in with Nvidia always striving to have the performance crown, best software, and exclusive features. The NVIDIA mindshare is insane. It is almost a cult like Apple. RDNA3 could come out and perform as well but priced maybe 20% less, and these people would wait for NVIDIA to lower prices and "thank" AMD for forcing NVIDIA to lower their prices.
Interesting. One wonders if they're trying to get the miners to buy more.

Ok, picked up a 6800xt for $415 with free shipping, $450 all in. "Lightly used" the seller says.
Let's see if I have better luck this time.
I'll finally get my all AMD system if everything works out. But disappointed I won't get to experience DLSS and such, but I actually like AMD's control panel so much more than NV (esp overclocking options).
I wonder if that's just the AMD reference-model card? The 6800xt is an OEM Dell/Alienware pull. Its actually smaller in all dimensions from my old 980ti and is a true 2 slot card which comes as a bit of a surprise. Has a nice light up red "Radeon" logo on the side of the card which I can see through the tempered glass side of my case. Put it through a bunch of paces last night with 3DMark/Uniengine benchmarks and it appears to be stable as a rock and pulling down "stock" 6800XT scores which is a good sign. Temps are remarkably solid, capping out at 80c with stable clock and ram speeds after a 20 minute 3dmark stability test run which I didn't expect from an OEM cooler.
Unlikely. Reference 6800 is true 2 slot card, reference 6800XT is 2.5 slot to account for higher power consumption.I wonder if that's just the AMD reference-model card?
Maybe it's a reference 6800, with the 6800XT BIOS flashed. ^_^
Or... maybe it's just an OEM card. The Red Radeon logo along the side made me think it might be a reference design.

Too bad she's not into computers like I am but she has no problems with me constantly buying tech stuff. I hear so many "hope my gf/wife won't kill me because I purchased "item-whatever".4090 would make a bling ring.
They are getting rid of it because GPU mining is dead.
They were really only slowing the Ethereum Hash algorithm(you could mine other coins at full speed), because that was where most of GPU mining happened. Not much point blocking it now that Ethereum Ended GPU mining.
