Looking at the poll results you can see the huge AMD fanbase we hear about here all of the time.

I used to prefer NV but i'm unwilling to pay the extra price premium they charge nowadays, for example the 670 is an extra $80-100 over the 7950.

I voted anti-NV. Haven't liked them since the TNT2 vs. Voodoo wars. Yet I have a GTX 670 in my main system. I think that means I'm a hypocrite.

I've owned more AMD cards than Nvidia's, so I feel a bit of loyalty to them. Nothing against Nvidia. I sort of root for AMD as a company because they're floundering financially and if AMD goes under it will be bad for all graphics card consumers, Nvidia fans included.

I voted both. Historically I have supported ATi/AMD more, but Nvidia have been impressing me as of late. Kepler is a very efficient architecture, and once Nvidia moved beyond the GTX 480, 470, and 465 (shudder), Fermi was great.

I am anti-NV, I think they really suck. First the NV cards I have owned ALL sucked, FX5500 was such a piece of garbage.. owned ATI after that, from 9600s to HD2600 to 9800GTX (oh NV was doing quite good @ that time, but then card died, I managed to revive it for 1 more month thanks to the oven trick, but then BYE BYE NV FOREVER), to HD7870.
I also hate the stupid physx + cuda stuff, just garbage to differentiate stuff. NV if you have BALLS port it to opencl or directcompute (well I think they will have to in a near future, cause its dying sooo fast to havok and other physics engines.. )

I am an AMD fan, but only because they moved their tech in the direction that I wanted to go: Eyefinity. From my 5850 onward I enjoyed a wonderfully wide screen experience. I also liked seeing the push of Displayport tech. nV could certainly make me a customer these days with better bang-for-buck, but AMD has generally held that spot whenever I've been itching for an upgrade. I had a couple 8800s back when those were a thing... but since the 48xx series it's been AMD for me.

I've hated nVidia since they pie faced 3dfx owners and I've yet to see any redeeming behavior.

Voted both, I buy based on price/performance (with features sometimes breaking near ties). My first GPU was Nvidia, second was ATI, third was Nvidia and my current is AMD so going by pattern I guess the next will be Nvidia

They're both corporations I don't have any loyalty to either, they've both put out incredible products at various points in their history...It seems incredibly silly to ignore fact based on some assumption that a company can do no wrong when looking at benchmarks.

I use both. Usually I try to stick with 'bang for the buck' but there is the odd time where I simply want the best, like the GTX 580 purchase at the time.

Looking at the poll results you can see the huge AMD fanbase we hear about here all of the time.

Actually, we need to see the users names who voted where before we can claim this poll is anything but inaccurate here at AT.

Polls are pretty much useless here.

I'm not sure, but I think that was an option - gah I wish I was more familiar with polls as this was my first attempt. But, I wonder if people would vote differently if their voting was publicized? Maybe people would be more politically correct and the results would skew toward making good appearances, which wouldn't be an accurate reflection of how people actually think/behave.

perhaps the best solution would be to make a new poll that is specifically advertised as being public. I bet the results would be more like everyone chooses Nvidia, AMD, and other, making it a 3-way tie.

You think people would vote differently if their username was tagged onto it? Heck yes! People love to be anonymous, why you think we got some brash forum warriors? In a face to face debate with someone they'd skirt tail and hide.

I picked all the options, because you wouldn't know , but here I am telling you...anyways, haha.

This poll is rather useless being anonymous, although I'm not sure what good showing the results would have given the functioning of this forum. In either case I voted both.

Thread worked well in CPU forum, can only imagine there'll be an equally civilized debate in Video.
