BBC has a global fat scale which allows you to compare your BMI (yeah, yeah, we all know the problems with BMI) with people around the world which I thought was pretty interesting. Let's see how the fine people of AT H&F rank on the global fat scale.

Check yours here and post results:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18770328

Here are my results:

It turns out that I'm most like someone from North Korea!

Oh that site is horrible, now I know that I supposedly have a BMI of 25 -- using some weight and height numbers I more or less made up, but they should be close.

Most like someone from Mongolia though. Made for the steppes!

Also: 19??? Eat something pls! Scrawny :O

Gonna cry myself to sleep now, never wondering why I suffer so much going uphill on my bike. Wonder how the French can be so thin (mean 23.5 or so) with all their delicious food and huge servings. Oh well, if I were to lose 10 kilos and get my dream weight, then I'd be a 22 BMI - that's more like it. Now how do I get there....?

Most like someone from India. Lower than 84% of females in my age range in my country, and lower than 70% of the same group in the world.

Ha! Just checked using my weight 16 months ago. I was HIGHER than 78% in my country and 88% in the world (of females in my age range). Trinidad and Tobago.

Thanks H&F!

Edit:
LOL! I entered my goal weight. Only 5 pounds less than what I am now. Most like someone from Ethiopia.

Edit again:
I like this link. I assume it's different for age group and gender, but in mine Trinidad and Tobago is 6th from the top of the fattest county list, India is 7th from the bottom. That makes me so happy.

That sounds scarily like you're aiming for being underweight.

I agree, it sounds like that.

According to BMI my goal is 7 pounds above what would be my lowest healthy weight. Also, my goal was to reach that weight and then start building back some muscle. Now, because I was slacking the last 5 weeks and need to start building some strength now for some obstacle course mud races coming up, I may never reach that goal. But that's ok.

That thing is depressing.Good thing I am not a gun owner.

I am so fatty that no country claims me. I am on some group of random islands north of Australia.

I couldn't stop laughing at this, "You have a higher BMI than 100% of males aged 30-44 in the world ".

I think I will go to the gym today.

EDIT: BMI=39

BMI of 26. I'm surprised it's that close to "normal" range. My ideal weight to maintain is about 10lbs lighter, which isn't to the point abs are showing but still pretty ripped at that point...which is just barely in normal (25).

The numbers turned out kinda funny when checking out the difference between my current age group and the age group I'll belong to in a few short months (30-35). Currently I'm lower than 58% of my country (US) but higher than 85% of the world. In a few months it would be 69% / 69%.

BMI is 27.6 now @ 171 lbs at my goal weight of 159 (currently cutting) I would be shredded but still qualify as overweight at 25.7

Mauritius? I'm not ashamed to say I don't even know where that is. Either way, it thinks I'm fat, but my 10% bodyfat likely disagrees.

Will likely soon be considered overweight due to gaining some muscle. BMI is a good tool for the sedentary, but not for the active athlete.

For the past 2 nights I ate a pint of Ben & Jerry ice cream each night. Tonight, I raised the portion to 2 pints. I hope I get fat so I can become more like the average American.

BMI is shit. The most Olympian athletes register as obese or at least overweight.

How do I have a 6 pack and be overweight at 26?

BMI is shit... for intermediate to advanced athletes. It's not shit for the general, sedentary population.

Yes but they reach a general conclusion of overweight or obese, and thus disregard many factors.

There are also many races of people that just don't fit in it. Example Nicaraguans - short stocky people that have a high BMI without generally being overweight.

I'm 6' 205lbs, but I work out 4-5 days a week, am an active runner, eat very healthy, and am very muscular. The chart does say BMI isn't accurate for athletes though.
